Here is an prime example of letting PA develop.

Took the initial trades based on my own personal trading without 15m conformation. PA and signals all present and entries are even a bit late as with most of my trades. Most 5m candles are closed or very close to closing via candle clock.

Next, PA continues and 15m triggers short also. Those waiting for 15m confirmation need to get jiggy with it and place their trades. I let these run a bit as we had good momentum, however, +5's were real easy here.

Either way, in a little over one hours time, there is AMPLE opportunity to get your work done and leave the area. Again, ALL FOUR pairs are seen as being in sync.

Until a demolition boot gets over the fear of pushing the plunger, they do not move forward. Like I said though, this is self paced and more a mind strengthening exercise than a mechanical one. The signals are easy, the rest is a bit more difficult.

Regards.

I've notice that MT4 freezes up on my old pc when I have too many alarm type indis on charts. How many charts do you have open with alarms?
Try closing a few charts if you have more than 6 open?

Never mind think my alarm was turned off too, turned it on, and it does act buggy.

I have 5 charts with alarms. But I am talking about the bug that very many have complained about and that SwingMan also has not denied.
I never had any problems with any alerts before I started to use the Sm 4-col Trix. And my computer is not old, less than one year and enough memory. Besides, the terminal freezes not computer.

Hi Skyzer, I am using a 5minute chart. But I am using the original trix indicator that Edge put on Post#1 in the beginning. However, he has taken that off the post now and replaced it with the newer versions. However, I seem to be doing better with the KISS idea where "less is more." Having the scalper candles, trix and MTF trix indi's on my chart were a bit too much clutter for me. I only use 2 indicators now. Happy Trading!

smTrix settings of 3,0, false, 1500. Colors of your choice

p.s. I also have started only trending in the direction of the 15min trend.

+44 fresh pips.
I am trading 2 minis, one runs with tp sugested by edge and as soon as tp is hit I move second mini to be and let it run. I'll be testing this a couple of weeks to see if this aproach is more profitable than just sticking to edge's suggested tp.

The wining trade was taken without mtf trix confirmation because price was bouncing off of the confluence of strong resistance and fibo level.
This makes over 110 pips (live account) for this week and only took me about 3 hours of trading.

Great system.

Working on the quick trigger finger.

All 4 trades signalled and closed with +5 within the same 5 min candle.

Had to have fingers of lightening but got there just in time. The first had closed for the profit before i had put the next one on!

Nice

Edge trader, you are to be congratulated and complimented for sharing such a simple yet powerful trading method.

For over 2 years I've been trading the same method day in day out and with considerable success (my primary income) but after an operation last week I was told in no circumstances to get involved in anything that might cause any undue stress etc NO trading for a week at least. so over the week-end I decided to take a look in on FF after a long absence.

Your thread caught my eye and I liked the look of it mainly because your method appeared to signal the same trades I would normally get into, but with one major difference, your signals were invariably a bar or two ahead of mine meaning getting into trades earlier, yes more pips!

Yesterday I took a closer look during the live markets and I was quite astounded at the simplicity, regularity and consistency of the signals with your method.

Today I couldn't resist and “against doctors orders” as the saying goes I have had a relatively stress free time trading your simple method and I am truly amazed at the results. I traded cable this morning and then did a couple of trades on the Dow after it settled down after the initial open.

So all I can say is a huge thanks to you for bringing this to the FF community, it really looks like one of those rare gems that only pop up very occasionally.

For those that are interested I use the SM C4 scalper, MA in colour and SM Ultra super TRIX V1 on 1 min charts. I don't use other TF's and I don't look at trends, only S&R (historical based on daily&hourly's) . Given a signal I wait for price to improve by 1-2 pips and push the plunger. I trade 2 lots and take 1st profit around 8-10 and let the second run and use discretion for its close.

You said it was simple, it most certainly is, thanks again.

Glad you are enjoying the methodology while recouping.

Take a look at the e-mini Russel 2000 also, does well there.

Hope you get back in shape quickly. This can be a bit a therapy, regardless of what the Doc says. Maybe the Doc does not want you getting stressed so they do not have to monitor you as often.

Gives them time to run to the doctors lounge to throw a couple of scalps on themselves. Uncle Sam trying to limit their earnings also.

Regards.

This is the difference in a traders mindset as I have spoken on often.

A purely 'mechanical' trader is going to fail!!!!! Has not yet reached the ability to follow price action and get into a zone when trading a pair(s). Everyone want the perfect plan, that which tells them exactly when to enter and exit a trade. That is why so many spend so much time on an ea to do the work. Even with a decent ea, you still have to manage the trade or risk account implosion due to a possible ea failure while they are off playing.

I can guarantee that this mental...

Use the 'bottom' one for your 5 minute trix
'price action' must cross the 'moving average'

Another 2 this time with a -15 draw back first.

Never sure whether to close at the cross of the MA or leave it to stretch within the 25pip SL.....on this occasion the blue circle shows a -15 pull back after opening the trade, both then went on to take the +5.

I know some think a +5TP vs a -25SL is too little reward for too much risk but i have noticed that on quite a few occasions the price will pull back, sometimes crossing the MA again to up to -20 before taking the profit.

Just a thought.

That makes +30 from 6 trade in about 35 mins market exposure using live account trading $1 a pip. I can live with that!

Cheers

Here are my trades from today.

8 trades + 59 pips

I'm finding that "less is more" as Edge would put it.

Edge - read the entire thread over the weekend and am learning a lot in the last two days of live trading (and taking some necessary lumps).

The only area of confusion for me is bailing out of failing trades. I've seen several different approaches taken here (fixed SL of 20-30, a bar closing on the wrong side of the MA, PA passing through the MA) and wonder what you suggest. I understand that it's hard to generalize but I feel that excessive losses on uncooperative trades is my biggest headache. If you could speak to this subject I'm sure it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for all your efforts - you are making better traders of many of us.
