I kind of like the AUD/JPY as well, have you given that one a go yet, IP?
Ignored

I'll have to give that one a look again, but the last time I looked at it[overall] seems a bit shaky to trade---like the pair is on caffeine overload--a lot of hard V shapes in the smaller TF's for the trends.

Suppose if I studied it for a while though, I might be able to learn to ride this pair though--trading those V's back and forth might be fun

I took this trade after a bearish divergence and trendline break on the 5 min. Entered after the break of the resistance on the 1 min. 12 Pips.

Hello, SpecialED:
Your post is very important. I used to trade in h1 timeframe, I guest the the rule may be simple more.
1. the entry :
M1F light + H1 cloud histo's same color.
2. the exit:
M30F light changes OR key lines.
I just trade forex for 3 years, I want to listen opinion from you.

[quote=SpecialEd;2706363]Hello all,

My rules for entry:
1. At least 4 out of these 5 lights (M15F, M15S, M30F, M30S, H1F) must be red for short and green for long.
2. M30 and H1 Cloud histo's must be red for short, or green for long. M30 can be yellow but should never be opposing color. It is a much better trade when both are the same color. I never trade with H1 cloud light opposing color.

Rules for exit:
1. Don't be greedy. Decide how many PIPs you conservatively want to earn and TP in front of some pivot or psych.
2. TP/exit when M30F light changes colors at the close of a 30M candle.
3. Set your SL according to either the ATR or 40-50 PIPs, according to your risk appetite.

Be sure to check H1 analysis chart to help confirm the trend. Always best to go with the trend.

Managed to scalp a couple of mini pips off the run back down on that run up...

The HA Candle body, atleast with 12 minutes left, did not manage to close over that level of resitance and now there is surely divergence in the 1HR...

Hello to everyone. I first became familiar with the THV trix indicator here, already 6 months ago, and finally feeling comfortable with it. As most of us know, the new MT5 will be arriving soon and apparently will not be backwards compatible.

I assume with all the interest in this indicator here, someone will remake the Trix so that it doesn't die with MT4?

Just looking for some reassurance

MT5? hmmm...

I'm sure it'll get done...there are soooooooo many people using THV and TRIX...

Will it be a requirement to upgrade? I mean to say, will they be shutting off feeds to MT4?

Yes. I read that this current build of MT4 will be the last supported. There is much discussion about this new MT5 and how it will only benefit the brokers, not us. For example, no more individual orders, they all get lumped together. "First in, first out" order execution. No TP/SL, have to place a buy/sell stop instead. Inability to modify an open order. No more hedging too. All since the self governing, NFA made these rules in the U.S. So none of this applies to the UK yet, BUT, MT5 will behave the same way anyway!

but if you are manually trading with one position, and just adding positions, then you won't notice anything to your style, but for many folks this is a huge disappointment which just forces us to make more trades, pay the spread more etc. The NFA, as well as Metatrader work to satisfy the brokers, not us, as it seems.

edit added: there is some talk or hope, that some brokers, probably mostly non-NFA members, who say they will continue to allow trades from MT4. There apparently is a platform called ProTrader which places trades in MQ4 language. FXCM has given their clients a window to move their accounts to their UK based office, so as to avoid these new restrictions.

Hello,

I have come to a level where I really feel comfortable. After alot try and error periods I'm using a 1 h, 15 min, 5 min, and 3 1 min templates. The 3 1 min templates aren't necessary but I like them all.

This is my last trade.

5 min: bounce from the 50 fibo, break of the trendline

1 min: break of the decending triangle

1 min: rainbow shows good trend

All indicators in agreement.

I'm using the rainbow template from misspips usually for the trend following trades. If I take divergence trades I'll ignore the rainbow.

I aimed for the 1.4200 psych level/sweet spot

A general question regarding divergence.
Before you guys enter a trade: do you always check the higher TF's for Div?
Say you take a trade on the M1, do you check, M5, M15,...for div to keep you out of bad trades? Hope I make sense

Nice pips on the EJ today...
Longed early (very) am at test of M15 61.80% line, permission on THV M1.
...quickly moved to profit so I stripped 25% off and moved to BE
This trade was mapped and planed all the way and turned out very well.

Shorted on the break of the UML...with 15p's stop in place.
This trade was not planned and had to just manage it when it took off.
25% off at 61.80% line, 25% off midway between the lower two ICCE lines and 25% off at the 52.80% line. Holding 25% with a trailing stop at the moment.

I like it...use it in combination with the Andrews and have several of the longer time frames setup with it. Use the M15 for scalping with M1 THV permission on entry. If I'm tied up with a project then I use the H1 for management...at times I've had to go out to the H4. Either way, you have to be willing to use some large stops...not all traders want to use stops that large.

Exited the last position of the short at 32.57 about 30 mins ago, it's stalling in a 30p range and I have more than enough for the day.
Me book is way over for the day.

Interbank FX Announces Compliance with the New NFA FIFO Rule, Retaining All Platform Order Functionality Including Expert Advisors
Interbank FX’s proprietary backoffice solution offsets positions adhering to FIFO rule

Salt Lake City, July 20, 2009 — Interbank FX (IBFX.com), a worldwide provider of online foreign currency (Forex/FX) trading, announced today a solution for NFA Compliance Rule 2-43 affecting all NFA regulated Forex brokers.
Using our proprietary backoffice solutions, Interbank FX will allow our Meta Trader 4 platform to remain 100 percent compliant, while retaining order functionality and flexibility for customers trading. The MT4 platform will continue to function as our customers have experienced over the last several years. This includes the ability for customers to use fully functional Expert Advisors, Stops Losses, Take Profits, Trailing Stops and Limit Orders without making any needed adjustments.
"Certain US competitors have decided that their solution to the new FIFO rules are to move their customers overseas, rather than being compliant," said Todd Crosland, Chairman and President of Interbank FX. "At Interbank FX, we have embraced the NFA's efforts to help protect customers and provide a seamless solution without any changes to their current trading strategies."
The only modification for customers will be their daily and monthly account statements, coming directly from the proprietary Interbank FX backoffice system using NFA FIFO offsetting procedures. The FIFO rule takes effect beginning July 31/August 1, 2009.
Interbank FX is currently working on a step-by-step video which will be available shortly on our web site, www.ibfx.com.
http://www.ibfx.com/media/Images/NewVisitor/line.png

  1. Does FIFO apply to all of my trades?

  1. First in / First out applies ONLY to trades of the same size.

  1. Will my Expert Advisor still work?

  1. All of your Expert Advisors will continue to work with all of your pre-programmed stops, limits and trailing stops.

  1. Will I still be able to use Stops and Limits, Trailing Stops and Take Profits?

  1. Absolutely – With the IBFX solution, you won’t have to make any changes from the way that you are trading currently. No need to make any adjustments to Stops and Limits, Trailing Stops or Take Profits.

  1. Will I still be able to close any of my orders of the same currency pair in any order?

  1. Yes, with the IBFX solution, your trading will still be fully functional without any changes to your current trading strategies.

  1. How will this affect my daily statements?

  1. Interbank FX Official Statements will come directly from Interbank FX’s proprietary back office system using our FIFO offsetting and accounting procedures. These statements will be accessible through a client’s Web Site Login. You will still be able to pull an Unofficial Trade Journal using the Trade Journal feature within the IBFX website. You will also be able to produce Unofficial Trade Journals using MetaTrader 4 as your Trade Manager.

  1. Does this NFA rule apply to all U.S. based brokers?

  1. Yes, this rule affects any broker in the U.S. that is a member of the NFA. Other brokers have attempted different approaches to this new ruling. We at Interbank FX strive to make trading in the forex market as simple as possible for our clients, all the while in full compliance with the NFA.
