You're right there! My next hurdle is being utterly ruthless with that filter and not letting a substandard trade slip by!

That's super-funny. I'm in the states, and I had no idea CFD's were illegal here, my MT4 feed is through FXpro, and it's a demo. Still good practice though.

My broker is Oanda, so I only get to live-trade their currencies and gold and silver.

I have been looking at the prorealtime and stockcharts sites, and it seems like it would be easy enough to trade other instruments via any standard, reputable brokerage, when these opportunities present themselves. That's something I intend to spend some time familiarizing myself with, since CW's style pretty much applies to anything that can be expressed in time and price.

I am constantly amazed at how little I know.

I think my mistake is I should have set my order clearly above 1.50 (say 5 pips), instead of 5 pips above the PB, at 1.3146
Another lesson learned, cost me 106 pips.

I would have been looking at 1.3050 as the level, it has more reaction historically.

Geezer, don't worry about a thing, I amaze myself by getting out of bed every day!

It's true you can trade what you like on demo but I am pretty sure you can't trade cfd's live. Test me on this though!

You have to take your hat off to CW occasionally for being so generous in sharing his knowledge and experience without trying to come across as the big 'guru'.

CFD's are not legal for Americans. Believe it or not, we cannot even trade the ones traded on the ASX, (Aussie Stock Exchange) even though they are regulated!

Lots of interesting PA around today. Getting close to the daily candle close here in the uk.

AudJpy is of note... It's in an uptrend but could definitely be reversing... Still a little too messy to commit yourself either way though.

One thing I've noticed in the last few weeks is that I've been taking a lot less trades. Call me fussy.

Just read my posts back... Might have to clarify my London terminology... A geezer is a dude. Could be as in "Hey dude, I like your car." or as in "Hey dude, get your foot of my toe or I'll stab you in the gut."

Either way it's more respectful than "mate" even though mate is used for most daily discourse as in "Hello mate, how's it going?".

I believe a geyser is something entirely different?

It's tricky but an ocean between us shouldn't be an excuse for misunderstanding, except for when your president speaks (any of them!)

doesn't matter what retracement level price hits..it only matters if any of 3 retracement levels being hit...if they are, then i expect 3 exp.s will be too...i like to see if the 3rd exp.level matches with any good s/r levels..thats what makes my target...

Just a question on drawing s/r lines. As we are drawing lines on the monthly and weekly, I see people have lines all over their charts rather than drawing just the nearest two major lines to price (above and below). Is there any advantage to that? (Except for practice).

For me it's a matter of two things: Being able to see the bigger picture more clearly, and it keeps it so I don't have to redraw much. These lines hardly ever "change".

Yeah thats true, one time job really, well I have 30 odd pairs to do, should be good practice.

I always like to review my S+R lines/zones once a month as I'm not as proficient as clockwork at identifying them yet... with the new videos on clockworks blog and free videos on james16 website, i'm becoming better and better at identifying...

USDJPY - the joys of buy stops and trading BREAKS of PA....

will looks for some PA back up around 94.00 to go short as the 94.00 have been well and truly broken...

JPY pairs have interesting looking pins on 4hr timeframe.

It's a real shame that there is no easy way to add subtitles to the audio blogs you have done CW, for people like me as I am hearing impaired and have a hard time following things like that.

I finally got my copy of Martin Pring on Price Patterns, the only question I have so far that I can't seem to work out, is does MetaTrader use Arithmetic or Logarithmic scaling? Martin Pring says he prefers to work with Logarithmic.

Another thing I've found useful is to simply plot lines on the major round numbers, perhaps using a grid indicator. So for GU it'd be 1.5, 1.55, 1.6, 1.65 etc.

It's amazing how these line up with what I call my "Clockwork lines". I use them both. When the big round number lines up with a weekly PPZ/ Clockwork line, then we're really in business.

The advantage of the round number lines for me is that I'm not thinking in the back of my head "now did I draw that right?" which I sometimes am with my weekly PPZs.

I'm at the stage of this journey where I am trying to evolve my own style. Just like Chris, Mike, Jarroo, Raczek, Seeking Light did with the James16 basics. They found something that fits their personality. That's what I'm carving my way towards.

Logarithmic isn't an option on MT4. To be honest, it hasn't hurt me. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

not as good as a simulator, though in some senses better, as when i simulate trading on say EURUSD its hard to take shorts over the past 5 years as I already know it was going up, this one you dont know what instrument or stock.
