nice 5M setup. Do you have an alert (cross zero-line) version of the trix ?

@all : Does someone have an alert version of that trix (i think its the trix used by edge)

Hey Q this indi look really nice but one problem with the setting..i set it to period=8 and type=3 and it look good on the chart..please let me know what you think about this setting?..Thanks alot.

The indi is nothing more than a MA based on Robert Hill's work, it's the same you can do with MT. The only differences are:
- It displays the colors.
- It is shown in a different window so you can use the PA area to actually focus on the PA.

Parameters are:
default="SMA"
1="EMA"
2="SMMA"
3="LWMA"
4="LSMA"

I just posted it so people who used MA's in their PA could have a clear view and could have different indis in the same window below, but it's nothing more than that.

I have resumed my daily dose of this thread as the ignore button solved the problem - sweetpea does not distract any more!!

I have tried many of the suggestions made in this thread for indis and systems but there is none as simple and effective as your M5 strategy, the results of which you often post on charts. Unfortunately, even magnified, it is hard to glean the exact detail of entry and exit. Would you mind clarifying these matters of concern.

1 Your charts show some +10 results and some +15 targets. At what stage in the trade do you look for 15. I usually set my TP when I open the trade, at +10. What criteria do you use to change that to +15? I have been looking at the HA candles and if there is no shadow opposite to the direction of the trade, it is a pretty good bet that the PA will continue in favour of the trade into the next candle. This could push the +10 target out to +15 or beyond?

2 The chart is not clear and I have not been able to figure it out when you actually press the enter button. Do you wait for the close of the signal candle or as soon as the Trix crosses the 0 line? The latter can be false as the trix can move over the line only to retreat during its formation and finish the candle not having actually crossed.

3 It also appears that you do not take all of the Trix signals. How do you decide which ones to take and which ones to ignore. Obviously signals against the H1 trend are not to be used but some on your charts seem to have the boxes ticked but you have not taken them.

I am so 'indicatored' out - its just great to get back to a simple chart with HA, the trix and a WMA. Why on earth is so much effort expended on developing 'holy grail' indis when this works so well!!?? Thanks Mate.

Hey Scartree..one thing that works well for me.. put both 5min and one hour chart side by side and trade the 5min in the direction of the one hour.This way you will see that not every entry the trix indi give is valid..hope this help.Be bless.

Thats alot of good questions Karl. Sadly, the answers are not as good.

1. I look for +10 on the EU and +15 on the GU. Nothing more than the fact that GU has deeper oscillation troughs. Took a +10 this morning by mistake on GU. Simply was not paying attention, got a late start and set the wrong TP.

2. Will almost always look for a closed candle before entering. If there is extremely fast PA, then it is a crap shoot as to when to enter. Am nowhere near as 'mechanical' in trading as some would like. This is why many of my trades are actually late entries. I tend to try to take 'perfect' setups and it is a fault.

3. Simple one here. My trading day is a bit different than some. As I have a bit of a commitment to a couple of forums, my time is not as organized as it used to be. I read and answer questions and posts, trade my own account on the TS8 in order to pay the bills, and also work at throwing duplicate trades on the MT4 as so many here are used to that platform.

Not overly concerned on missing a few trades as my goals are really simple. Shoot for +2/-4% on account daily and there are ample trades available to shoot for those targets. On an average day on the 5M, watching just 2 pairs usually provides 8-10 setups during the time I trade. Again, no biggie if I miss a couple. Just tend to spread myself thin at times.

Hope these answers are adequate. If not, let me know what other concerns you have.

this is to show my entry points for the trades as I type now EU is +12 and GU +6 pips all entered immediately after the Asian box stopped painting the blue

Original rules, original indies, 5min TF

Some of us would not leave the stage of indies adjustment till the end of this thread

I will keep us updated as it hits my target or stops out

A very interesting and original rule, it is short and concise. I can hardly wait for the other rules when you post them.
Can you please post a chart with your setup? My question is: can I buy when the ball is green and not blue? With sells I haven't problems because between my colour tomato and red is not a big difference.


For me is forex trading an unsuccessful hobbie, and I have no idea how to get into the real trading. Therefore your last 60 contributions exclusively in this forum are very helpful for me, and I am satisfied that from the current 100 active threads in this forum you just post here. (Probably your browser has a short circuit and you can just read only this thread, and I am pleased to.)
