Yes, I'd follow a good thread started by Edge too. I think he is full of wit, wisdom and has a lot of good ideas coupled with intelligent investing strategies.

Wonderful idea Edge, it would be great to have some focus on one type of trading eg scalping.

Traded on live today, most of the losers were against the trend. Found it difficult to get a decent entry with the trend. Anyone have any other charts of todays activity with entries to compare.

Say, Edge, I seem to be a little confused with the WMA settings. On the 7 and 14 WMA, could you be kind enough to explain them to me? I presume they are 7 period EMA and 14 period EMA, but are they looking at Open Close High Low, etc? Thanks for your help.

count this as another vote towards you starting a scalping thread, i think it is a good idea. I am using your set up to trade, but my time to trade is not the best time i guess. Asian closed, London already open? My trading times are 10.00 gmt to 14.00 gmt . 9pm to 10pm Perth time.
I do have the wife trading kind of the original set up during the asian session on the gbpusd and the gbpjpy and she is doing better than me!

I vote for your new thread as well.

This thread should be retired and when Paulus comes back he can start a new one. Even the name is misleading (and almost caused me not to check in herre) as it says EUR/GBP and practically no one trades that.
Paulus should start a "Paulus New Thread' and Edge, please start your scalping thread.
And people, please go to the threads that have the trading methods you prefer and stop the petty bickering in here about all the silly details.

I swear there are people on this forum that are not traders at all but just have a ton of time on their hands .. some may even be teenagers just getting a kick out of ruffling feathers.

I've been trading Paulus' system for about 3 weeks with modest success as detailed by him on page one of this thread together with a couple of confirming signals or system. I'm not a serious trader, I am retired and it's just an occupational hobby for me. I trade a micro account and try to trade in the AM (EST) only.

I have learnt that, for me anyway, it seems to go to profit very quickly and then reverse, again very quickly so one must be ready to pull the trigger immediately and do it. I do not set SLs because, again for me, I have found that they always seem to get taken out. So, instead of an setting an SL if I think it's getting away from me, I just chicken out of the trade. Most often I leave it and it comes right eventually but of course, sometimes I have to capitulate.

I'm not too sure how to paste charts here so I hope you will be able to see this trade on your charts. This AM, using the 5m & 1hr charts, I went short the EU at 13:16 (GMT) @1.4131 and covered @ 13:51 (GMT) @ 1.4117 for 1.40

Backtest this system on demo, it's really "Simple" like what Paulus had mention before. Still need to try a few more trades to get use to it before go Live trading.

Phew, it's really take me sometime to read from the 1st page to the last page, if I'm not wrong, Tudor Girl is creating an indicator for this that have email alert?? Can someone confirm it?? Really would like to have this email alert to inform me when I'm working.

I do hope that Paulus would post more trade & summarise his trade on this setup in a pdf file or something as it's really very tedious to go
through all the pages here for newbies like me.

If on a MT4 platform, the MA should be LINEAR WEIGHTED with WEIGHTED CLOSE.

You are showing EXPONENTIAL ma's.

What platform do you use?

With most of the really serious players having deserted this thread (for the time being at least), it would be very educational to have an Edge scalping thread if possible.

Using your methods Edge, I've yet to encounter a day where my targets were not met. I'm sure many of us who have a serious interest in advancing our knowledge and skills would benefit from such a thread.

My computer is constantly backtesting but I trade everyday. In fact, if it wasn't for my testing I would never have known to short (today) the Light crude at 72.8.

Is under strong consideration. I cannot have it interferring with my own trading though as you can understand.

Am going to be looking for a couple of well qualified traders to assist with thread focusing. (i.e. NO DEVIATIONS FROM THE PLAN).

Do not care whether they use candles, renko, bar, or friggen pasties, but there will be NO deviation from a 5M TF.

Testing in the 'background' is understandable. We both are aware that new ideas are formulated on a back burner.

Sitting and backtesting or forward testing during premium market trading times is another story.

Notch, I think we each could provide backtesting results for alot of these folks in a matter of seconds to a couple of hours based on the testing peramaters.

None here are going to make a dime doing that muck and grind testing as they currently are. I simply do not think they are situated to do both.

So, I guess that they need to have a little faith here. If i (we) tell them a 5m plan traded at appropriate times has a 70% w/l %, a 1.5 PE and and max drawdown of $300 on a daily basis, then that is exactly what it has.

In short, I want to see trading, not testing here. The work in the back office is already complete. Once they make a bit of bling consistently, they can test until their hearts content.

Pretty hard to miss the 5M trades as long as you are with the dominant trend.

1H on top.

5m below.

Not great PA today but enough to make 1 or 2 trades and be up 30 - 40 pips and DONE. It ain't an endurance competition.

5min Scalping on EU, GU , EJ

I use smFiscer 18periods + HG001 + TM + 7/14 WMA....and it seems working!
