get one of the many demo accounts available and use the charts... I like metatrader and you can find ooooodles of brokers that use them.

I see everything I need is right there on Metatrader 4. I'm Still learning, trying to spot enter/exit points on charts. I've been studying all weekend. Well no, I took a few hours out to go and watch the new Transformers film with my son and his friends. I was so tried I fell asleep, but funny enough when I'm in front of my computer watching the forex screen I'm wide awake .

All the charts I post on here are MT4. I like them the best, and I have used many! You will get the hang of it. I must take my son to Transformers too. I recently went to see the Star Trek movie. I really liked it! Seen it twice now! Yes, no sleep... Welcome to the world of Forex!

Long list of news coming out today. JPY unemployment, and GBP-GDP. Check out the news schedule on the home page of FFactory. GJ is in a 30 pip range, continuing where it left off on Friday, with nothing really setting up.

Just want to note, Summer is a slower trading period, with less volume. A large portion of the market volume is traded by financial institutions, Bankers. This is the time of year that they take their Holidays. Volume gets thin, and volatility can set in. So be aware. Especially during news time. Sometimes, news is one way, but the market goes the other. Keep a very close watch on open trades. PA is rather unprdictable this time of year.

Morning Dad hope yoiu had a good wkend, recovered from the kids! Lol. I've been a Star Trek fan since Kirk days, seen it too...one of the best. Saw Angels and Demons too pretty good as always the book is better.

JUst back from a wkend at the coast, nothing much happening by the looks of it. GJ bouncing between daily and weekly pivots. UJ, EJ and even GBUS look similar. Would you call them concilidations?

Hey Brian!

I had to help the ex move. She lives on the 3rd floor, with no lift. So that was fun. I hate moving. I'd rather sit in a dentist's chair for a week! It was 37c (99f) today, so that made it even more fun! At least I got some exercise. What am I doing wrong? You are weekending on the coast, and I'm spending mine, with my ex?

Anyhow.... back to FX. I learned that a consolidation is when the market begins to basically agree in price, and the range starts to "squeeze" tighter, getting smaller, with buys and sells at about the same price area. Right now, this is a general consolidation, but not the type of squeeze, I trade. I looked back through prior posts to find a good example of a consolidation "squeeze."

This is my other favorite trade setup. It is when price squeeezes up against a S/R level and forms a wedge. In this example, it is squeezing up into the .50 line. Then makes a break through.

About 20% of the time, it will take a bounce and breaks through the trendline, in the opposite direction of the squeeze. Hope these help clarify.

If you look at the GBPJPY on the 4H, it is consolidating. I've never traded off the 4H. I'll keep an eye on it and see what it does.

Well Guys,

I'm going to call it a day. USDJPY is consolidating, but nothing I would trade, just because of the time of day. Action in the PA might pick up on it closer to the NY session. I only like to trade the breaks going into the Major market openings, like the Tokyo and London Sessions. As I said before, don't like the NY so much. Tokyo and London work better for me.

I will try and get a video posted before Tokyo and one before London, especially if I see something setting up.

Now I won't be able to sleep John! Thanks! Hahaha! No... after spending my time in Kiev, I'm done with US girls! Especially after what my ex and her attorney did to me, I couldn't go back! I know you experienced the same.

I took a buy at 134 when it looked as it was going to hold. Looking for a quick trade, hoping to get out at .50, so I can go to sleep. Depending on PA, I might clear half and leave the rest open with a TS.
