I am one of the reasonably silent numbers who are following this thread with extreme interest and learning heaps. For that I thank Paulus, Anne, Edge and others who contribute and help. My first task of the day is to load this thread and read the latest additions. Fortunately I have followed it from early days - I would not like to try and catch up now!

I am busy trying various ideas presented on the thread but regardless of the indictors used and the chart setups, I can always see in retrospect, where a good entry was but it seems that I was not watching at the moment a trade was signalled. Apart from sitting glued to the computer all day and night, is there any way in which we can be alerted to a trade? I have tried alerts on other strategies/indicators before but they always seemed to lag to the extent that their value was limited.

Any suggestions or thoughts would be appreciated. Is it a matter of luck that a good trade is noticed or just sheer patience and perseverance?

Morning All,

Just woken up (0900 UK time) having slept through the entire London open! I couldn't face getting up at 0530 and watching the M5/M1 tick painfully up and down.

Woke up to find my short of the USDCHF H1 nicely in profit. Have moved my stop to lock in +20 even if I crash and burn now. TP is 0880 or +90 pips.

GBP trade.


I have posted a lot of trades with screenshots, live account trade information etc. I have a point of view regarding this trading method, not a point to prove. You decide whether you want to roll the dice after proper evaluation. I have already made up my mind whether I think this method works for me.

I am not going to post any more trades, we look at the same charts and you can spot all the entries as well as I do.

My advice, for what it is worth, at least try it, even if you decide that you are not comfortable with this method, you have hopefully learned something during the process.

I will cut of the test today and analyze all the information. Total trades 237 in total, it will take some time to extract what I am looking for. Once done, I will post it on the forum.

Not sure what mark 1 and mark 2 is????

It appears the MTF indy was red across the board from before 7 GMT...where did you enter and exit?

I trade on average 4-5 hours a day.

It is pointless and soul-destroying sitting with your nose against the monitor for 18 hours a day. I trade 2-3 hours during LDN session and at times 1-2 hours during the US session. I am lucky that I live in a timezone that covers the " best " trading times.

By only targeting a fixed and limited trading window, it helps to stay focused.

In addition, I only trade 4 days a week during one month, the next month I trade 5 days a week and take a week of. I want to extend my " shelf life " as a trader!

If you target your trading times, pick 1-2 pairs only to trade, you will find that it is easy to focus and not miss good trading opportunities.

Sure, a bit of luck does not do any harm but to be successful in trading, you have to treat it like a business or a valuable job.

Wow, I am starting to sound like those improve-your-golf-handicap, lower-your-cholesterol, become-a-better person courses!

In any case, it works for me.

I found it here on the thread, open the attachment tab, one is a MTF Trix, the other a plain vanilla one, both should work, just change the settings.

Good advice, Glen. Better chance of avoiding possible chop as well.

For me, its hard to focus on more than 2 pairs, thats when u miss entries by going above that, but that's just me!

I have not used the Trix before and figured that there may be more than one way to trade it. It looked good on day one because of decent PA but GBPJPY beat me up a few times yesterday ( wrong day to trade )

Will fiddle with it again next week if I get a chance.
