Probably, but their EAs can be much more successfull, they have spreads we can only dream about

Trade for the week end - June 15-19, 2009. Using Firebird EA v3.1a and driving it both directions;

Hi Andy, i've tried it with version 1.5b with your setup except for the MA_timeframe and that what i got from 8 june to 12 june on EURUSD:
Chart_Time_Frame = 5, MA_Length = 10, MA_timeframe = 15, Percent = 0.05, PipStep = 40.

I have 17 win and the only lost is the last trade when the simulation stop.

I think the setup for your MA_lengh was the source of your problem.

Hi,
i have resubmit the simulation using same setup than previous try except TP=400 but this time i used version 1.5c (to be pulbish) and with parameter Trailing StopFlag at true and TrailingStop at 20 and TStrigger at 20.
I did improve my results significatively, see by yourself.

NONE, it's automatic (both directions). I just got stuck with v3.1a, so i started testing it with different settings. Currently I'm using the following for 3 weeks now:

TrendAnalysis = True
Manage Trade = True
HAS_timeperiod = 240
Chart_TimeFrame = 240
MA_lenght = 10
MA_timeframe = 1440

Hi,
here the latest version with some bugs fix with the function that is closing your trade if you have "Close_" in your trendline description.
Also, i had found a bug in the trailing stop function that prevent to follow an open trade the way it was described in the explanation. With this fix, i'm able to have better results by having the "TrailingStopFlag" set at true and have the parameters set to 200,200 for trailing stop and TStrigger as you will find in this version as default.
Please test it to find parameters that you are confortable with before going life with this version.

Can someone please help me? I'm using MetaTrader platform and when I put a Trendline description as "Main_UpTrend_Alert_" it keeps dropping the "Alert_". Leaving it as "Main_UpTrend_".

When I put my other Trendline description as "UpTrend_Close_Trade_Alert_" it keeps the full description. Anyone's help with this will be much appreciated.

I think you have trendline to close to price. That happens when price broke trendline. Try move trendline.

Thanks gasgas for your response. I tried moving "Main_DownTrend_Alert_" far away from current price, but it is still dropping "Alert_" from my description. Can't get it to work. Any other ideas?? I appreciate the help. Trying to learn.

Hi crt4x,
Try placing the "Main_UpTrend_Alert_" below the current price action or
"Main_DownTrend_Alert_" above the PA. If the "Main_DownTend_Alert_" line is below current price, the EA sees the trendline as being broken by the price. Trading stops and the "Alert_" is dropped from the trendline description. Hope this works.

Thanks Inquisitor for your kindness. That seems to work, but I'm a little confused. How is my "Main_UpTrend_Alert_" trendline going to ever trigger a Long trade if it is below the current price action. Sorry for my ignorance.

My guess is that the EA generates Long trades while the PA remains above the trendline and conditions meet the requirements of the EA program. The EA will stop trades when the PA falls below the Main_UpTrend_Alert_ line. Hopefully this won't happen and prices will generate trailing stops to covserve profits. Good luck. Regards.

Yes. EUD/USD -BUY, USD/CHF - SELL. Opened yesterday and closed with profit.
