Dear Notch,

If you read my posts you will see that I was the first to advise people to only trade during the most active time of the forex market......and avoid the choppy hours that kill this kind of systems. Second I advise you and others to avoid the ES because it's the most killing trending strategies market in the world. You will get killed in the long run using this kind of method in that market.......and you reply that I wanted that market all for me!!!! Third.......that fxx guy, if you see all his posts on ff.......you will see that the only thing he does.......is putting other people and ideas down. Forth, you are trully an a** as you all have witness so far.

Not sure where this is going at all.

Simply stated, if you have a set of indi's that you can put on a chart and show us the advantages to using your setups as opposed to that of anything else here, then by all means post them.

Otherwise, there are few here that are getting any value out of what you are saying. To state that the TM still repaints is redundant at best. It has shown strong capabilities as a swing trading tool and is simply replaced with a basic MA for those more inclined to scalp trade. Nothing more, nothing less. It is a simplt tool the same as every other indi in this thread.

So, one more time, what EXACTLY are you offering that can be interpreted as beneficial as opposed to detrimental? Providing already known attachment indi's is not exactly profound. Give us something to work with here please.

indicator, especially on tf1, here is the exact same indicator
but in mq4 but this is the newest and very improved
version... the one posted here is the voltychannel stopv1
this is the voltychannel stopv2.1 here attached.

Seriously its a great system and thanks to all involved
in developing it.. not everyone is trying to destroy things
but some prefer things be shared truly on the level
its something worth appreciating.

Pastor's Ass


The pastor entered his donkey in a race and it won.

The pastor was so pleased with the donkey that he entered it in the race again, and it won again.

The local paper read:

PASTOR'S ASS OUT FRONT.

The Bishop was so upset with this kind of publicity that he ordered the pastor not to enter the donkey in another race.

The next day, the local paper headline read:

golden, I have used the forex freedom bars in the past and find them confusing. Just for kicks, I attached them to one of my charts and made a comparison of what they would indicate versus the Vorticity indicator, and the fx fariz. I don't see that they're helpful in the least. The main focus of this thread is to minimize indicators, but if there are idnicators that are better than what we already have, I doubt that anyone here is going to object.
I've seen systems with so many indicators, the chart looked like expensive wallpaper. One indicator was saying trade, but another was saying maybe, and yet another was saying don't trade just yet.
fxxx seems to have a thing with these forex freedom bars, and perhaps is trying to convince others that they are worth consideration. He also has a problem with the Trend Magic indicator. My question is why the heck is here then? Is it to educate us? I haven't seen anything of value he's brought forth, except some rather terse posts.
What we have here is a VERY good system with VERY good indicators, and a VERY easy to read and follow chart without a million squiggly lines and other indicators and signals or lack thereof that lead a trader to indecision and fingernail biting.
I can readily see on my chart where and why a trade should be made and have reasonable confidence I'll get 10 pips. I personally don't want another indicator unless it's one that would further refine, rather than confuse, my entry or exit.
As Edgetrader said, there is no one perfect indicator, and if there was, forex would cease to exist when everyone used it. Not everyone will use these indicators we have, or the way the next person uses them. So, we're safe for the time being. I don't really see this way of trading changing for the forseeable future, either.

Here is a method I use to re-enter a trend. Read http://www.forexfactory.com/showpost...postcount=2037 if interested.

After catching my share of that nice up-move friday just after the new-york lunch hour ( I think), I decided I wanted a little more mayo for the sandwich.

I have used this method for re-entering the trend 14 times in the last week for 85 pips (give or take a few due to spread). 9 wins, 2 losses, 2 abandoned when indicators went against expected direction, and 1 accidental entry due to volitility that was a small 5 pip loss.

Here is example of one trade. Only 8 pips, but was nervous on friday afternoon trading.

otherwise, I have been sticking with basic concept of tudor girl and Paulus. Couple hundred PIPS a week over last 3 weeks, trading live on my mini

Trying to catch up after being away for a week, I am amazed at the direction the thread has taken.

It started of as a constructive thread with a goal to keep things simple, trade and test a very easy and clear trading concept. Looking at some of the posts (still catching up), I see indicators galore, variations, permutations and totally different trading strategies that has nothing to do with the original concept.

It is sad to see the ego trips ,chest beating and plain rudeness being displayed here that will do nothing to contribute to the original goal. In fact is quite an achievement finding any posts during the last 200 or so that is remotely related to TM/TG/Paulus concept.

I am still trying to establish whether the original concept was ditched, something better was found or whether any meaningful improvements were made. Maybe the penny will drop after I catch up!

It is sad to see the traders jumping from one perceived " flavor-of-day " to the next without properly evaluating a strategy by trading it in real time, demo or live. If you are not consistent, how will you know whether a strategy suits your trading style, your risk tolerance or your account size?

If you are consistent and trade with discipline, you can turn even an " average " trading concept into a winner.

It is far better to be consistently average than trying to be occasionally brilliant.

again I am not entering that conversation beyond this point

On the second note, absolutely.. a holy grail in everyone's hands
will still have 95%+ losing money. If there is a way..your mind
will find it! lol

I have practical experience on a live account that these settings in an EA can increase your account by between 5 and 10% every day. Will test some more to produce more reliable averages. Catches trends very well, and doesn't lose too much in ranging periods.

GBPUSD 5M
Trading 5:30 - 20:00 London time
MM: Expose 2% of equity in a 20 pip move
Indicator: TRIX (period: 5, Signal period: 14)
Simple MA 55


Entry Logic (long): - Reverse Logic for going Short -

- TRIX value: Last completed bar is above zero and rising
- Closing Price: last bar above MA55
- TRIX oscillating value: rising
- and to complete: Alternative One or Alternative Two.

Alternative One:
TRIX value: Next to last complete bar ended above zero.
TRIX Signal value: Rising

Alternative Two:
TRIX value: Next to last complete bar ended below zero.

Exit:
TRIX value falling (based on completed bars)

TP:
25% at 12, 24 and 36 pips - and let 25% run till stopped.

SL: 40

i agree with you,just dont get it anymore,seems as though the initial trading strategy dosen't work anymore, if anyone has got a new system should as well post and share, if you dnont wanna do that then i think such persons should start their own thread, instead of messing this one up!

I'm still trading the "original" method and doing very nicely, apart from a bloody awful day last Friday, starting with my broker hitting a stop loss when the Alpari prices were a good 25 pips away

It counteracted Thursday when I was finished with 56 pips after 50 minutes of trading.

I'm trading the 5m and the only amendment I've made, is to blank out the 5m (as well as 60m) on the HG MTF indicator and use the STF indicator instead of the 5m on MTF.

That way, gives me an extra filter, if 5m is yellow I won't enter and again if in a trade and yellow I'll stay in.

Oh, and like others I've inverted the MTF indicator so lowest time at top, highest at bottom...

As far as the thread getting off course, I don't really think it has. Has been some new indicators introduced, but not all that many. I don';t let all the side stuff bother me. It's interesting reading anyway. Would be boring otherwise.
