From what I have observed, it repaints two bars prior to the one it's on. This was observed on a 5 minute chart. This repainting is the same as on TGs Vorticity indicator. Can't say if the repainting issue is any more than two bars because I haven't sat and watched it long enough yet.

The reapainting issue will be identical to the original FX Fariz, which repaints 2 bars to the current bar, as you have observed.

Sadly, the Laws of Physics are not so easily cheated!

Perhaps a typo? As you are obviously aware, the IIR smoother function is generally:

y(t) = alpha * x(t) + (1 - alpha) * y(t-1)

In the FX Fariz code, he uses alpha = 0.33 and (1 - alpha) = 0.67 for the price channel. He has alpha = 0.5 and (1 - alpha) = 0.5 for the Fisher.

Whereas Ehlers appears to be using alpha = 0.5 and (1 - alpha) = 0.5 for the price channel, but then alpha = 0.25 for the Fisher. But he writes (1 - alpha) = 0.5 when it should be 0.75 to get the filter to balance.

This a rather a moot and technical point, but vitally important!!! Perhaps just a misprint? I dunno...

Any, you prove a good point!

I think it to be very good that some cerebral giants take time to oversee the efforts set forth in this thread.

No matter what the perceived value of the thread, no matter how many charts with trades clearly set forth on them, so matter how good the plan seems to work overall, there will always be naysayers. It is just the nature of FF.

Followers and detractors alike are within their rights to post as they deem appropriate. Welcome to the public forum venue.

I myself appreciate the constructive criticism when it comes and also any accolades heaped forth. I think that, at this stage of the game, the PA in the current market has us plowing forward unfettered. Until such time as things change, I will continue with the mindset of 'if it ain't broke. don't fix it'.

I would need definitive proof that there is a better primer and trigger than that which we are using. This little +10 thing is over 80% and with a lousy .8 PE. I am looking to improve that as, from a longer term perspective, that is doomed to run into trouble when PA tightens and does not present as deep of oscillation as that particular plan needs to be productive.

There are two pairs in particular that are producing at unconscious levels. Will disclose this weekend a tweak that might help all traders.

Don't see why not other than the H4 TF is more postion trader oriented than scalping. Best of luck with the indi's.

Swingmans indi is already on my charts and set to 18. Very, very close to FT. Will see if it performs better on Thursday.

In fact, so close to the FT so that the histogram indi's can be the primers and PA moving across the MA as the trigger. Easy enough it seems.

For the loops I taked "limit" and not "Bars", but the repainting remains to 2-3 bars...

If I have time I can try to solve this problem, is not so difficult.

Hi Edge.

Looking at your chart, it seems generally you wait for a candle crossing the MA to close, then trade on the open of the next candle.

However, there are instances where you seem to wait one or two more candles before opening the trade, for example the 2nd trade you indicate on this chart - cross for long had happened earlier when histogram was already blue too. What's the reason behind that? Is it type of candle that crosses the MA, or maybe depth of the histogram at that point?

Use Semaphor only for exits not for entry. Use TM for entry thats the trick.

Hey mate everything is cool...I just didn't want to confuse anyone...that's the last thing I wanted to do...I use this system and think it is the way to make consistent pips where eventually people can make a living at it. That 15M chart probably needed much more explanation. I'm comitted to make all of us better traders

Can the alert be turned off? I turned the "alarm" from true to false, and I still get the alert every 5 minutes. If you can make a non re-painting indicator, that would be fantastic.

I have been looking up and down this thread trying to find Edge's rules/tpl he uses for his version of the system. Can someone point me to the post where he explains what TYPE of MA he uses, as well as the TP and SL? From what I read, TP is around 10, but what about SL?

Also does Edge use TrendMagic anymore as well?
