Yes, and it has an effect on the basket. With ReverseNotCancel set the robot will think a trade should be part of basket but then the platform will cancel the trade.

IBFX will lose my account the very second I do not have to trade nano-lots. I hope this move by IBFX and other brokers causes a stampede away from them, but that is a separate issue.

In the meantime, I am watching to see if it is necessary to add extra code to prevent a non-allowable hedge trade being calculated as part of the basket. At +899 pips for the week so far, I doubt it but we shall see.

I have the same results this week. At some point this morning I was up 900+ pips, but has slipped back to about to about 700+ at the moment. I would like to open the latest upgraded version on a build 223 IBFX but how can I download that Build when they are all 224? I don't want to touch 224 on IBFX. Anyway, is there any way to possibly improve this baby without messing it up? Agree on using one broker, etc. Are there any other brokers out there that at least have 10-cent pips? That may do it. I like 1-cent pips better right now, but we better have a back up or two ready to go. What do you all think? Thanks.

I'd tried EA and got 130 error, only by crosses as EURNZD, EURAUD etc. with high stoplevel.

FYI im using Build 224 with no issues with your updated EA. Also I am using the set file you provided with the exception of turning the JPY off, it was giving me nasty losses, at the time.

I have no issues with the latest build.

I've downloaded the EA and did everything (I think) by the instructions provided, and when I try to active the EA on a chart nothing at all happens. I don't even get that window pop up which lets you set if live trading is allowed. Tried it both on 223 and 224,broker: Alpari UK
I don't know what time it is at your place, but right here it's 4:20.

Great to hear from you. I have enjoyed a barnstorming week; +1257 with a few hours still to go. I don't suppose there will be a lot of market activity for a few hours as the markets await NFP; even if nothing else happens today, it has been a great week.

Manually, I caught the recent GU rise; that trade finally stopped out this week at +1000, so a grand total of +2257 this week, 12.5% increase in the balance.

IFYI, I have turned off the StrengthInLoss/Profit switches. In my experience so far, baskets do turn around. I find that budgeting for 5 open baskets going to -1000 each = 50% of balance is safe, if uncomfortable.

Curious about JPY; it is my biggest earner - IBFX mini.

Did you put OrderReliable.mqh in your Experts|Include folder? If not, then doing so will probably cure the problem. If you did, then sing out as I have some more suggestions.

That is an 'Object does not exist' error. This is something caused by the indi, something I can do nothing about. It doesn't seem to matter.

As I have released the source code, your platform has to compile it from an .mq4 file into an .ex4 form that it can use. Sometimes the platform looses contact with the compiling process; how or why, I have no idea. When this happens, the robot shows up in the navigation window but cannot actually run.

Try this:

 

  1. Left click on the robot and select Modify from the menu. After a few seconds, the mql editor window should appear with the source code open.
  2. Press the F5 key to compile the code.
  3. After a few seconds, you will get a message at the bottom of your screen saying, "0 errors, 2 warnings" and some stuff about OrderReliable functions being deleted from the compiled file because they are not called.
  4. Press the F4 key to call back your trading platform. The robot should work now.
  5. Close the mql4 editor.

If stage 1 does not work, it means your platform has lost contact with the editor. In this case: shut down the platform; navigate to the Experts folder using Windows Explorer or my Computer; double click on the source code file and follow steps 2-5.

If none of this works, you are stuffed. I hope it does.

I have re-uploaded the Range and Original robot with my current setfile as the defaults, for anybody who is interested. There are a few things you need to personalise - lot size, remove the pair suffix for non-IBFX mini accounts, Friday close etc.

It is supposed to, for sure. Sometimes the platform simply gets corrupted. When this happens, the best thing to do is to save your ea's and scripts somewhere, uninstall the platform, delete the containing folder altogether and reinstall a fresh platform.

I am just starting to make sense of the markets. It has taken me just over two years to get to the point where all the things I have read that were written by experienced traders, are starting to make sense. I am even starting to make tiny profits.

Most successful traders here have stated that an individual cannot trade if he or she is not happy and relaxed. That is one of the reasons for the smilie at the end of my posts.

The other is part of the way in which I live my life. I operate on the principle of 'what goes around comes around'. Not always true, I know, but mostly. Generally speaking, I find that if I am nice to people, they are nice right back.

Excellent returns Steve, I reread the thread and saw what you had turned off. I think that was the biggest problem with the JPY was StrengthinLoss/Profit kept closing them out.

I started on the 3rd, so thats what 2 days trading, up 300 pips. Thank You very much.

What a work You have done. I have read the tread + manual many several times. Just downloded the . zip from the first post. I cant drag EA on my chart (forex.com). Works with other EA´s I use. Maybe something is wrong with the EA file?

Try the stuff I posted a few posts ago, and copied at the end of the user guide.

I think in future I will release both the ex4 and source files, then users can have a backup if compilation fails. It looks as though non-compiling mt4 platforms are more common than I realised.

I have added the .ex4 file to the zip in post 1.

It was one of those 'seemed like a good idea at the time' thingys. As I recall, people were concerned about there being no automated trade closure apart from the basket stop loss, which killed trading stone dead.

StrengthInLoss close is so dangerous. One of my costly software errors happened when I had this wretched function turned on and forgot I had set the waiting time to 0 on load up.

I had three weak baskets all below the close threshold. The robot fired up, saw the pairs had zero strength because the indi needs time to make its initial calculations, and promptly closed all three baskets, wiping out a couple of weeks profits in seconds.

My fault, and a stupid thing to do, but it just shows how dangerous the function can be. I am seriously considering removing it altogether.
