Hi All

I am glad I found this thread from JohnH's recommendation to Paulus' systems. Paulus has a great reputation on the forums here so I want to learn from his good ideas.

I am quite a newbie looking for a "home" and I was getting on quite well with Viking's system (which is quite similiar to this but not as good) until he got himself banned from FF!!

I like the trading style of trying to catch the bigger moves - I don't like trying to scalp for just a few pips here and there in ranging markets. I would rather wait for a little (or big!!) trend then try to catch it.

One thing I have learned is that this is much harder than it sounds! But this system looks great - It is nice and clean and easy to follow.

I hope the thread stays alive so I can learn from the experienced traders here.

Hi All

Here are my trades for the last week or so. The first two were just break-even but the rest got more than 300 pips. Note that I changed to the H1 from the M5 as I can't always watch the screen.

Also, I have added the Laguerre RSI from Viking's system. I like this as it acts as another filter. Only go long when the LRSI is rising thru 0.15 and get out when it falls back thru 0.85. Exact opposite for shorts.

looking at your chart & find it interesting cos i'm also trading on 1 hr charts.

do you go just long when LRSI goes above 0.15 from below with magic trend blue & the xmacd blue?

and what abt short? when LRSI goes below 0.85 from above or goes down 0.45 from above?

You are right. For LONG trades, I want the LRSI to go UP thru 0.15 and ideally stay above 0.85 for the duration of the trend. XMACD should be BLUE and the H1 and H4 on the Forex Freedom bars also BLUE.

For SHORT trades, I want the LRSI to go DOWN thru 0.85 and ideally stay below 0.15 for the duration of the trend. XMACD should be RED and the H1 and H4 on the Forex Freedom bars also RED.

This is a belt, braces and cleft-stick approach and doesn't give too many trades, but when they all line up it seems pretty much a cert!

Hi Golden

Here is the Laguerre RSI from Viking's original thread. (I had to rename it to LRSI as I have several versions all called the same thing!)

Make sure you set the parameter to 0.75 for my system.

The XMACD is just the BB MACD from earlier in this thread. (Again I had to rename it as I was experimenting with several different versions..)

Hi folks!

This system looks like it has great merit. I am just starting to test it now. Is this limited to only EUR/GBP? Any thoughts on any other pairs or has anyone tested any other pairs?

Do someone know if I can find the MQ4 file of the indicator on FF (or relevant website)?

I agree. SuperTrend is pretty horrible and there are too many things you can adjust - always a bad sign! TrendMagic has nothing to adjust! And it seems to work well across a range of TFs from M5 up to D1.

I'm still looking for it, mate. I'm also looking to find any EX4 to MQ4 decompiler but the only one I found was a paid one which didn't work.

Hi All

Attached is a tidied up version of the TrendMagic indy. The original was obviously generated by the Purebeam decompiler and is a bit hard to read when modifying.

I have tidied up all the code and made the two parameters externally adjustable, although the default settings are pretty good as they stand.
