News Trading

hello everyone,i am a new student in the forex school.please i need someone to please explain how to trade news reports in the forex market, as in how do know if you are to enter a buy trade or sell trade.

In news time, you never know either to enter buy or sell. But one thing can be done. You can get ready for both the cases. This can be done very effectively, but you should be sure that market will give a huge spike. If you are sure of that, you can earn a real huge sum of money. But if market goes normal in news time, you will lose. That is why i don't like news trading. Try to trade the trend, that is much better.

And how many times have you done this effectively? And how do you know you will get a "huge spike"?

Here is another scenario.... you can have a straddle order in (like a lot of BS ebooks say to do) and then price can whipsaw and you'll be entered into both at the worst possible price (read slippage) and you will be left holding the bag when 30 seconds later you are stopped out. It really is a fools errand nowadays so don't bother.

Instead, why not wait for the news to finish and then check the direction of the trend and jump onto the MOMENTUM of the news rather than the MOMENT.

Well, maybe you haven't traded the news much, or at least not with a proper strategy. I am actually a trend trader. But I do not rule out the possibilities of a good trade when promising news is coming. Trading strong news is very easy if you can use a good method.

i thought there is a standard method to trade news and this makes it difficult to predict the market reaction to a news report.anyway thank you for responding but in case there is something new please keep me posted
