I would like to start a brief discussion with you fella traders about the significance of EU & UK economic data release vs US data release.
In my short trading career I noticed that EU & UK news release moves the market very little compared to US news.
My interpretation of such a behavior is that due to different timezones, EU & UK data are released a few hours earlier than US data and traders in Western Europe tend to wait until 8am ET and see how the Americans digest EU & UK news, especially if important US data is to come out at 8.30am ET.
I am curious to see how you guys trade European news compared to US news.
I usually suspend trading 30 mins prior to US economic release and resume trading 30 mins later. I fear adopting the same type of behavior for EU & UK news might keep me out of good trading opportunities as I actually see very little danger in trading EU & UK news.
Since tomorrow is Independence Day, I am gonna take advantage of the holiday to do some historical research on the market behavior during EU & UK economic data releases.
It's obvious my inquiry refers to GBPUSD and EURUSD.
Thanks in advance for your valuable feedback.
