I tried your combo of sto and I did not get the same results. Could your show all the numbers including which indicator you are using Sto versus Sto Oscillator, whether you used lwma or simple or ??? I could not duplicate your results. Thanks for your input even though I may have not understood your point. Sometimes I am so focused on getting these files up that I did not read your post thoroughly or understood it enough. Please try again.

A stochastic and a stochastic oscillator are the same thing.
MT4 calls it a stochastic oscillator, some other charting applications simply call it a stochastic.




1st screen shot:

Your MACD in the top indicator pane. It is RED.

The 26/12/9 Stochastic in the bottom indicator pane. It is YELLOW.

The other two stochastics (7,3,3 and 14,5,3) are the same in both panes.

The Sto 12/26/9 gives virtually the same wave shape as your MACD. It does not drift and shift. It maintains its relative position with the other two stochastics and with the stochastic levels (15 and 85). You can look at it now or 20 weeks ago, and it will be the same.

I believe there are better settings for the Long Term Stochastic than 12/26/9, to accomplish what you want.
It can be made more responsive with less lag.

I made it 12/26/9, to reproduce your MACD.

OK I see the difference. It matches the MACD of MT4 but not the True MACD I am using. There are some variations. The True MACD is not as smooth and is more responsive than MT4 MACD. It goes higher and lower than the sto settings you use and the MT4 MACD. That is why I use it, the signal is clearer. I have tried different settings with STO but I dont get the same reads as I do with the MACD. One thing you have to remember about MACD, the only reading that matters is the one that is now. What it shows two weeks later is useless info. The problem you will find with a fixed sto or any other indicator and many are going to suggest other indicators is--no fixed indicator knows when there is a direction change in price action. With a movable MACD always rising/lowering you always know at that point it is giving a signal and then other indicators tell what price is doing in relation to that signal. Is it continuing the trend, is it retracing, or is it changing direction. I have tried many other indicators but MACD because it does keep moving will allow the other indicators to show you how price action relates to it. So a Sto indicator, which you are suggesting with different numbers will start coming off the top where MACD will stay there and keep sliding. Then the read comes off of the blue and white relationship with BB. White moves but not blue, trend continues and so on. I have tried some sto settings and I dont get the same kind of reads as I do with MACD. The clincher is the EA entrance. It will wait for a cross before getting in. I cant tell you what a life saver that thing is because it is the one thing that will wait out a run and get you in when it is over. Here is a USD/CHF trade my EA got me in on Monday and didnt get rewarded until late Friday. I will take half first thing Monday and then ride the other half and see how far it goes. Notice MACD sat on the bottom all week. Maybe two weeks from now price will reverse and push the MACD up into the middle of the chart but that wont mean a thing then. The trade is over by then. So right now the sliding MACD doesnt cause me any problems because on a 4H chart it takes so long for the slide to happen the trade is over.

When Bob say "close 1/2 and see if 1/2 rides or not" (page 16, 3rd paragraph of End of week2),
does he mean, close out the trade and open another trade in the same direction?

The problem I have is an internet problem China has a country wide firewall. Sometimes I cannot get out. Close half means to close 1/2 of the trade and keep the other half going. Place your SL so you still will keep a profit and follow price to the bottom of the BB. You can then decide to close all or keep it going. Reset your SL as you go keeping as much profit as possible.

How are you closing half a position? Are you opening two positions when you first place the trade?

How do you bypass the 3/3 cross if say you see a nice setup for a non trend trade and you don't want to wait for the cross? If you start the trade manually then switch on the EA, will the EA manage it from there? Thanks

This EA does not manage trades, it only starts the trade. You have to put in the SL TP etc. The reason I did this is because of the great variance of the different currencies. The GBP/NZD maybe 200 pip back to the 20MA of the BB while another currency it may only be 30. So I leave that up to you. So you can enter manually and set up the trade your self. I do that at strong support and resistance points instead of waiting for the cross.

If you want a managed trade you can use the 60x90, 100/40 or some other of my EAs. They could manage the trade for you but they will reenter when the trade is closed. This system is really a manually trading system that only uses an EA to start the trade.

With IBFX if I have a 2 lot trade I can close 1 lot out at any time and keep the other lot going. There maybe brokers that dont allow you to do that but I can with IBFX

I recommended the following using my system this morning.
NZD/JPY up 87 pips put my stop loss at 50 so guaranteed winner
gbp/nzd was up 100 but now break even. I wasnt home to put my safeties in.
eur/gbp has not entered yet, went on a run the wrong way but the EA kept me out.
eur/nzd-closed 2/3 of this trade for +60 and will ride 1/3 SL at 45 so guaranteed winner
aud/jpy up 112pips put my SL at 90 so guaranteed winner
USD/JPY up 85 SL at 50 so guaranteed winner.

Remember to tun your SL on to a winning trade, now you cant lose. So far I have guaranteed 250 pips in winnings, no losers, one break even and one not entered. Also turn off the EA when you have your trade parameters set. Other wise it will take profit and the EA will enter again on you and you may not want that. I am happy with that.

These are trades I have already taken or just set up. Beginning of Eur or beginning of USA session check. I will try harder to get these to you sooner but you can look at the charts and see why I think they are tradeable. Mondays I teach all day so it is difficult for me to do eur open trades on Monday.
These are primary trades
chf/jpy
eur/cjf
gbp/chf
usd/cad
usd/sgd

2 secondary trades, these are a little more tricky but I am trying them
eur/usd
usd/chf

REMEMBER WHEN I SAY I HAVE ENTERED THE TRADE IT MEANS I TURNED THE EA ON. IT DOES NOT MEAN I ENTERED THE TRADE. THE EA SAVED ME ON THE EUR/GBP TRADE. I WOULD HAVE ENTERED TOO EARLY IF I HAD NOT USED THE EA. I AM STILL WAITING FOR THE ENTRANCE ON THAT ONE.

If you are not in the CHF/JPY trade as a buy do not get in now too late. I took my profit when it hit the BB 20MA line. Because of the angle of the BB look out for the whiplash back south. This maybe an example of a trend following trade. The other reason I think it will go south is because the CHF is a primary trade going south on the GBP/CHF and a secondary trade on the USD/CHF. You can use other currency pairs to help you determine these decisions. So after taking my buy profit I am going to play it as a trend continuing with the two others showing me CHF sells as a primary and secondary trades. Currencies will often move together of the same pair if the fundamentals are strong enough. Dont know why the CHF would do this, I dont follow fundamentals that strongly but you can sometimes see it in chart signals.

Looks good. All stops moved to BE, took profit on audusd, and looking at closing out a few other steep angled ones depending on the next few hours.

I closed all my trades from Monday/Sunday JPY session. My results were

gbp/nzd +145 actually I could have kept this one I see it broke resistance but oh well.
NZD/JPY +300 W&B above 85 and at top of BB
E/GBP has just entered so see what happens
E/ZDN hit my SL profit at +40, it went over 300 but oh well.
Aud/jpy +300 closed W&B above 85 and at top of BB
nzd/jpy +160 closed W&B above 85 and at top of BB

total for day one= 945 pips I believe that is my best one day ever. I am going to take my wife out to dinner tonight.

My Monday pre USA open picks
chf/jpy +100 took profit at BB middle--looked like a possible whiplash but did not happen. I put a sell EA on for the whip lash, it did not enter. Trade did not whip lash so all EAs were removed.
Eur/chf just entered
Gbp/chf just entered
USD/CAD nice run but it hit my TS at +77
USD/SGD closed at +50 bottom of BB

Total for 2nd round trades +224
Total all day = 1172
GOD I broke the 1000 pip barrier for one day EGADS. That is scary. Yes I could have let some run longer and placed some of my TS and SL tight but WOW, YAHOO, OH MY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE people dont expect this to be normal. It was not but DANG.

All of these pairs are secondary trades. B&W are above/below 15/85, top or bottom of BB and are at a major support or resistance level. If they break and continue the trend the EA wont enter until the 3x3 cross. If they change direction the EA will put you in. Choose the ones you think maybe best but if they enter be tight with them and cover yourself with break even SL. Maybe they work Maybe not.

nzd/usd,nzd/jpy,nzd/chf,chf/usd,eur/nzd, eur/chf,eur/aud,aud/usd,aud/jpy,aud/nzd aud/chf, aud/cad

The aud/nzd I actually put on at the mid usa session and it has entered.

Verto secure your profits and put your SL at mid BB. Close 1/2 or all, if you put the S&R indicator on you will see they are all at some S/R point. The only thing you can play for now is that they will break S/R and continue running. So close all and take your profit Or close half and let the rest run. Good luck. I am still a WOW look at the proft grab it now trader still. I still cant believe I did over 1100 pips in one day.
