I going to trade this system manually watching QQE in a live contest, I'll post my results.

Hope I will, i think I'll trade this way using the setup i posted:

Watch the QQE, if the last cross was sell, trade only SELL on Stochastic Divergence (so any cross at 80-90 level) and Arrow. The same for buy (stochastic cross at 15-20 and last QQE cross buy)

Hi all

I have only traded this EA one week with 10 pairs (max spread=5). I trade only the pairs wich have a clear trend. Put stop (trenline with alert) with yesterdays high/low. Fantastic result this first week.
I will test it on IBFX demo 2 more weeks, if result is good I will test it live, first with very small money. On IBFX its possible to trade with 1penny/pip.

Ver 1.3b and with Samurais settings from post 1280. But I think you can use the latest version with the stop trade function. I will not do a knew trade if I get stopped. I wait until I can see a trend on the daily chart.

I am just a little confused on how the Downtrend_Close_Alert works in conjunction with the Reduce Factor setting?

Say I have a downtrend, draw my trendline and in the description type Downtrend_Close_Alert_10 and say I have my Reduce_factor set to 2.

What is the effect of this? Will it close my order when it is within 10 pips of my trendline or just cut my stoploss in half?

Say I just want the order to close, do I need to set the Reduce_Factor to a high amount (say 10) or will the Downtrend_Close_Alert_10 function do this on its own?

I was also wondering if I am understanding the Heiken_Ashi_timeperiod setting correctly? If you have Manage_Trade set to "true" and Heiken_Ashi_timeperiod set to 1440 (daily) when the daily HA changes colour I am assuming it just turns off the EA not allowing any more trades?

It should work this way.

You don't have to worry about hedging since this strategy does not involve selling and buying at the same time except for the 1.4 proposed strategy that makes takes an opposite position if trend line is broken over X pips. We still have to test for that to see if its even a feasible option over the long run.

Anyone? A live account with small minimum deposit and no dealing desk?

A "close" in the trendline will stop the EA from any new positions in the same direction and reduce the stoploss by the reduction factor.

Manage trades will use the HA to do automated trading in both directions. If HA is long it will set EA to long and vice versa. Keep Manage_trades to false if you want to use the EA with the trendlines we are discussing.

Thanks Jag. So if I am understanding this correctly all the Manage trades function does is control the "long only" or "short only" depending on the color of the HA candle on the daily (if set to 1440)?

If this is correct this function doesn't make alot of sense to me. Wouldn't this replace the whole "driving" human interaction element, and also would be dangerous to use because could initiate trades in the wrong direction when a new daily HA candle forms and goes in the wrong direction for a few hours?

It would be great if the Manage Trade functioned to simply deactivate the EA when the HA candle changes colour to that opposite the direction you are driving it. For example in an uptrend, driving the EA "long only" if the daily HA changes from Green to Red the EA will turn off, if it turns green again the EA will turn back on.

I dont know if this is possible as I am not a programmer. Also I suppose we can use the regular Alert trendline to deactivate the EA as ActionPl has already explained.

But anyhow the work by ActionPl and anyone else who contributed so far is a big improvement on the original Firebird, thanks again for your hard work and sharing with the rest of us!

With this setup, the EA will close all your trade (sell) and stop the EA to take any new trade when the price will go above the trendline. It does not take into account variable Reduce_factor when you have "Close_" in your description. It does not take into account the number you put at the end also.
If you want to work with the "Reduce_factor" and have the EA manage the close, write your description this way. "DownTrend_Alert_10". This way, when the price go above the Trend, it will change your Stop loss by reducing it by a factor of 2 if the variable "Reduce_factor" is at 2 and stop the EA to take new trade waiting for your decision.
P.S. Again, the number at the end of "Alert_xx" is not used. The number at the end of the "Alert_" is take into account if you have only "Alert_xx" in your description or if you have "Trade_" in your description in conjonction with "DownTrend_" or "UpTrend_".

If you have Manage_Trade at true, it will allow trade only in the direction of the previous daily bar if variable "index" is at 1 or the current bar if the "index" is at 0. Be careful about index being at 0, since the current bar can switch color many time during a given day. You can used this feature with any of the other features of the EA.

No, you can not open a trade manually for testing since the EA will not recognize your trade.
The way to do it is to force the trade to open by using the trendline with "Trade_" in the description.
let say you want to open a buy, do the fowllowing. (Will work only with version 1.4)
1-Trace a trend line below the price action
2- Give it the following description, "DownTrend_Trade_Alert_01"
3- As soon you will clic ok and a new tic come in, it should open a buy

then you can change the description of your trend line to test whatever you want.

You can also used the simulator to test it. Do CTRL-R on your metatrader and follow the instruction.

Actionpl u are the man, I'll try to sumarize all the input EA explanation later.

Monday..monday...monday..I still dont like monday, sudenly reverse on daily chart often time (GU Pair), before I have this trendline thing I always too much worry, but now its not anymore, -90pips right now keep open and protected with trendline in around -150pips. On monday I usualy have no capability on predicting where the trend goes, well that just me I guess, but let the trendline taking care of my trade, no emotion intach. Thinking of turning off the EA for a while untill I see a clear major trend direction, let's see.....Still 2.257pips in the bank.

Yep, my Gbp/Usd almost hit my trendline and stopped out, but seems to be on a bit of an upward recovery now. Let's hope it continues!

Actionpl and Samuria, you guys are great. I personally want to say THANK YOU for this ingenius system, and Actionpl, you are the BEST. Anyway, Actionpl, Let me ask you a quick question as per V1.4 because I'm going to test it later, For now,I'm still winning with the V1.3a (you know what they say... you don't change a winning team).
From your statement .. a trend line with "Trade_" in it will intiate a hedge trade when the trend line is hit....What is this function actually going to do? is it going to open a trade in the opposite direction while the other trade is on or it will close initial trade and open another in the opposite?. I'm asking this because there are some rules against Hedging now, at least in the U.S, I don't know if you put that in consideration.

i have just one question, its possible to drive ea with trendlines and completely without switch Only Long/Only short? What i mean, thats what we need is to program small check: if price above UpTrend_Trade_Alert_ then only buy allowed and vice-versa.

Hi Canni, what you are asking is the functionnality of version 1.5. I've completed the code and it seem to work pretty good in simulation. I'm testing it forward this week. I still have some cleanut to do and verify the effect on trading with manage_trade = true while having TradeAnalysis at true. Still investigating.

Basicaly, the version 1.5 will have all the features of the previous version but the trend line that you draw will decide which way you are trading. Exactly as Samurai describe it initially but without requiring anything other than the trendline.

I will described when i release this version the detail of how to control your EA using the trendline.

Make sure you understand version 1.4 well while waiting for this new improvement.
