This stress test has got me all stressed out. Rally over? Or to the moon we go?

Recession or Recovery?

Helicopter Ben will lets us know. Or will it be the same old fed speak saying they don't have a friggen clue either?

HOWEVER

Stock market is going down because nobody knows if those results are trustworthy, if not by how it was carried out, then by the people who were in charge that can be anything but trustworthy.

So - AGAIN - they spent an awful amount of time and resources to come up with results that can't be trusted...

Someday Bernanke will become a verb, man... "Hey, dude! Stop bernanking the project, will ya?" or "we lost the customer... the whole deal was bernanked by the manager"

I don't know...

The guy had 1 job to do. Get the "money we will need" row in the excel spreadsheet and match with the "money we have".

Then send these information to MIT, Caltech and Princeton, they have people and technology to make a subtraction*

*in a few words and simplifying for the common guy not used to state-of-the-art technology:

subtraction:

an arithmetic operation in which the difference between two numbers is calculated; "the subtraction of three from four leaves one"; "four minus three equals one"

Short sellers, the bane of Wall Street executives last year, are back.

The number of Citigroup Inc. shares borrowed and sold short increased sixfold since Feb. 27, the day the U.S. Treasury announced it would convert some of its preferred shares in the New York-based bank into common stock.

Short interest in Bank of America Corp., MetLife Inc. and American Express Co. climbed more than 40 percent in the same period. In total, short sales of the 18 publicly traded financial companies undergoing government stress tests were twice as high on April 15 as they were at their peak last year in July, two months before Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. collapsed.

The Federal Reserve plans to release results of the tests on May 7. At least six of the 19 firms under review will require additional capital to absorb losses if the recession worsens, people briefed on the preliminary results said last week.

Short sellers borrow shares and sell them hoping to make a profit by replacing the stock after prices fall.

well the news moved the currencies up.
gbpusd, eurusd eurjpy gbpjyp all are up.
i wonder if it will sky rocket or retrace a bit.

Dow futures +100 today... Exactly what I thought yesterday: no matter how bad the stress test results could be, it would still mean we know the size of the problem.

there's no way but up when you know the problem and its size. Well, at least when you don't have Bernankes and Geithners in the process

That's waaaayyyy sooner than I expected

I don't know about you all, but I just love the guy... The way he posts those lousy calls with so much simplicity, not afraid of criticism and all. He makes a 2.500 pips jump look like a walk in the park

Gotta love this guy...
