the problem is here ....it should do a trade per day and close it at the same day but now sometimes open order is closed a few days later

It shouldn't. Please pass me an example, if possible through screenshots or something. Is this in backtest, if so please include a screenshot of the strategy tester.

Hi, thanks. I just spotted an issue. I have written and tested this with a 5 digitbroker (ibfx) whereas you are using a 4 digit broker and there is a bug. Will fix it and redeploy. This should hopefully fix point 2, but hopefully also point 1.

i took a backtest from 2009/1/1 to 2009/4/4
but i had only results of 12 days while i should have results of 100 day now

Hi,

after your feedback i have made some modifications that should sort all the problems (lack of trades, too many trades, SL value wrong). I can only check on 5 digit broker so there might still be issues for 4 digit brokers, just let me know. This version also has a 'tradeonfridays' flag.

GBPUSD: 45 pips (closed)
GBPJPY: 72 pips (closed)

All the trades were closed at target

Yes. What suits me, in this strategy is that: it is set and forget, no baby sitting the PC and we can earn good profits with just a little equity at stake on each. The negative point is risk: reward ratio, 1:2.

But I think the profit earned will outweigh the risk reward ratio. Let us do some more days of demo trading to ascertain it.

I am from India. So the timing is convenient for me. At London opening , I will be busy with my day job. And GMT+4 coincides approximately with Frankfurt opening which experiences some volatility. If it is not profitable in the long run let us try London opening.

So trading on more than two currencies may be justified.

if we sets 10 pips more for SL (GBP/USD) we have +43 pips instead of -73 on GBP/USD

The SL which I have set is 2 * 25 % of previous days range - 10 pips, so
if we do not deduct those 10 pips we could have made profit in GBP USD for the day. Still then the net results is good. Tomorrow I will not deduct those 10 pips.

: G/U +41 Pips

All other trades cancelled as per advise

I am in South Africa and we are on GMT+2, no DST or anything else, so I try to get the trades in just after 7am which is a nice time for a pensioner, not to early although I am up earlier than that

GBPUSD
Just to make sure; if I had traded today, 5-7, with yesterdays H,L,C, I would have gone short at 1.5089 and been stopped out at 1.5171, then long at 1.5172 and been stopped out at 1.5049.

?If the short trade had been taken would the long trade have been cancelled and that would have been it for the day?

?As the daily range for 5-6 was only 165pips (less than 200p) no trades would have been taken today, 5-7?
