...I counted 7 hits on the trix trendline and the last break gave no less than 10 pips, straight to S2...

Although, I seldom apply Andrew's Line on the 1-min time frame but yes, at the point no. 4 where Trix got rejected by your depicted trend line; there existed a Median Line (the steel blue rectangle) at almost exactly the same juncture where a short scalp you entered your last short order for 10-15 points. Thanks for the Trix setup, it was a gem.

The trix displayed a support T/L that was not evident in the PA which when was broken, gave way to 10 - 15 pips in trade 1 (first vertical red line). Following that, the same T/L became resistance which when held signaled a continuation of the bear move for atleast another 10 - 15 pips in trade 2 (2nd vertical red line)

Both of the T/Ls were not visible in the PA...

I need to reread through your material on the Andrew's Line in order to figure out where to put the 3 points...mine always end up going in the wrong direction....

Ca$h...it's just the basic ABC pattern. If your pick A is a high and pick B is a low (pick C lower high than A) then the AL's are going to slope downward...if pick B is higher than pick A the formation will slope upwards. Don't be timid about moving the original picks, i.e. drag pick A to a close or to a bar that was the *real* start of the move. Takes a bit of practice but when you get it right you won't have to ask anyone, you will be able to see the ML testing.

Hi BB,

Nice explanation on the higher tf usage and charts. I have a question on this specific chart, trade#2.

I see the PA is above the MA's and you took a short, does that mean as long as the PA is not in between those 2 MA's, you will take the trade? irrespective of whether PA is above or below the MA's?

I was expecting this question.....

Several factors at work here: The distance of price from the 89EMA would suggest a trend change (scroll back and see that history supports this position because price wants to return to the 89 at times like this). I'm willing to lose a little or B/E on a trade setup like this. There was divergence on the H1 to support a short trade. See the "pinbar-like" candle 8 bars to the left? Good short signal!

This why I wrote that each trader should make a strategy "their own". After enough experience you develop a certain "feel" for how to use the indicators and PA when you trade. Strictly speaking you could have taken the first trade and been happy with 100 pips.

Have you seen what has happened with this pair since I posted my last chart? Another almost 100 pips as PA reversed to get back in line with the H1 trend. This last trade would have strictly adhered to the trade "WITH the trend" rule. Either way; two or three trades averaging 100 pips each. Not every day is like this; but there are enough opportunities to make trading stress-free and profitable.

Hi Guys and Gals
Great day for me!. I've started with traying M15 TF - and +100 pips (in fact trend and EURO/USD hepls me). I'v waited for trend changing more than half day - after that I took a trade (not all rules was fullfil ).
Thanks for SpecialEd and BeachBum for good post and tips.
PS R3 was significant resistance because included historical resistance as well.

What is the very first THV signal I use to plan for a possible trade?

Isn't waiting half a day worth it when you can easily bank 100 pips on the M15? Besides when you use H1 for the first signal you have an hour downtime between candle closures to do something else; even take a nap.......

This is my first post. So far, I have been a professional lurker on this website and specifically for the past few months, on this thread. I have traded Forex for a couple of years now and I am the epitome of Cobra's Newbie post. I wanted to thank everyone on this thread for the care and dedication that you bring. It is by far the most comprehensive thread on this site. I have been trading on the smaller TF and I am currently looking over SpecialEd's and BeachBum's posts on longer time frames and I have a question for BeachBum. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to set your NLMA's to (13) open and (13) close. Can you shed some light.
