Hi kjasni,
To update your platform.
If you have ibfx MT4 (other brokers probably same).
You can run LiveUpdate.exe in the MT4 folder.
If you have vista, first need to set User Account Control to off for a little while.
Should put it back to on after the LiveUpdate has finished its stuff.
Then restart your computer to get MT4 platform seeing your previous templates & profiles.

I had two successful trades this morning using the Big Dog System.

EUR/USD and USD/CHF both went 20+pips for a total of 40 pips. Could have gotten more pips but 40 is plenty for me.

Both were in the 50 pip range so I took the trades. The GBP/USD was more than 50 pips range so I decided to pass on it but I notice later it went 20+ pips also.

The AUD/USD was within the 50 pip range but I didn't take the trade as I am trying to manage my trades and not over trade. I would have lost on that trade had I taken it. So it was a good thing I did not.

This system does seem to work.

I use the template with these indicators: fractal support and resistance, pivots daily and the ant-GU breakout. I set the breakout to 0 for broker time and then the times for 7-9AM EST as 1400-1600. I live in the MST zone so my local time corresponds to 5-7AM. My box for the time period is correct because it corresponds perfectly to this two hour block of time. I don't use the clock plug-in -- it doesn't work at all on my charts. Gives my local time, my broker time is -15!!! according to the clock (it's not, it's +3) and GMT is the same as my local, London, etc are show times with dates a month away...you don't need this thing on your chart to do this strategy. Just drop it.

REsults of using this strategy: yesterday, +30 pips. Today, +45 pips. I'm not paper trading. I'm using a micro account (each pip is worth 10 cents). When I scale my account up enough to go to minis, I will transition to minis. This strategy seems to work real well. I place my buys 1 pip above the high and my sells 1 pip below the low. I also use the free synergy template as a second GREEN LIGHT indicator for the direction it is going to breakout in. Go to FXDD.com to find the basic synergy templates and indicators and training on how to use it. It works really well as a backup telling you when this thing is going to pop.

So I have just to pay antettion on the high and low of the last two hours before NY Opening and London Opening?For exactly do you need the synergy indicator?

Sorry fellas for this noob question, but what SL do you use after the buy or sell order gets triggered?I am a bit confused because some of you refer to a fix SL and some to a TS.

My system is designed for one currency pair, the GBP/USD. When trades are made with other pairs, the system is no longer the Big Dog System.

for example.. would you wait only a maximum of 4-6 bars or are you willing to wait say 10-15 bars for the high/low to break?

For those traders that come to this thread and discuss a system other than what is posted on the first page, you're actually introducing your own system. Hopefully it works well for you. Feel free to discuss your own system here.

If you post your own system and state how the Big Dog System is not working for you, please keep in mind that you're not trading the Big Dog System, you're trading your own system.

The goal is to make pips... and we can do it.

I am sure that a certain number of traders have tried the system, and have incurred periods of time when they have lost money and simply gave up and have moved on.

That's a pity in that I have made money consistently trading the simple rules laid out in the first post. But that's the key...consistency. EVERY system suffers periods of losses...it's inevitable. However, if you make the attempt to trade every trade regardless of whether or not you "think" the trade will be successful, you will be profitable with this system.

So...stick with it...follow the simple rules...trade every trade...make profits.

Works for me.

Hi Ya Big Dog

Thanks for sharing your strategy with us. I just found it. Looking forward to testing it out over the weekend to see for myself and then add it to my repotorie, maybe put it to use on Monday.

Are there any particular days to not use it or days that it works better?

In the past I have for the most part stayed away from the openings of the US market. With the news being released it often worked against the system I use.

I couldn't launch the LiveUpdate.exe. I am using vista and fxdd mt4. I've disable User Account Ctrl. Any advise? Appreciate it. Thanks.

Hi ya kjasni, I suspect my FXDD demo updated just the other day by itself after I set my own vista User Acct Ctrl to no to check my post to you or something else on IBFX. My FXDD profiles disappeared & after 1 restart didnt come back.
A full shut down or another restart since then & they have reappeared. Just as well, didnt feel like setting up all those charts again.

My FXDD build is at 223 as per the FXDD topline Help > About...
shows bottom LH corner of little help screen.

I think it also shows on the lower Journal tab after startup. Scroll back to the 1st entry.
If you have 223 then you have the latest.

Thats about my limits sorry.

Sorry Ctg... it wasn'y my intention to change or add to your system. I was simply trying to share the fact that the system was also working on the other pairs.
