Hi Pilatus,

Besides seeing Guppy, s/r, pivot in 5 min chart, do you confirm anything in longer time frame. Do we need to see guppy in longer time frame. Some times, guppy shows short in 5 min and in 1 hr, guppy shows long, do we take trade in that case?.

Thanks
Ignored
Good question too. Well, issue is that we can not predict how far price can go aftet we enter a trade. I do not see guppy in longer time frame to trade on 5 min. I use naked chart on higher time frame and look for S/R. Try to understand that you trade on 5 min time frame and that you can not expect home run every time. I take every trade which gives me good looking entry set up, if I am on my pc of course, but according too my higher timeframe analysis.
So answer is yes if you ask me.

Actually, this is the usual situation:

after we enter the signal, at some point the price will cross the short term SDL (for example 250) first and then if it is truely the end of the trend it will then cross 300, and then 350, and then 400, at the mean time, 250, 300 and 350 changes color with the respective order, hence we may not need to see the changing of color for SDL 400 to determine the end of the trend.

also, the long term SDL can filter some bad entries too. For example, if we have an SDL 200 as an entry filter, then we can have rules such as enter only if SDL 200 agree with the signal direction. Anyway, The idea is to stick to long term, if we stick to the long term we may not even have to look at the higher time frame.

Those are just pure thought, I haven't test it yet, but i found SDL 200 was way too powerful

The system that I am currently developing uses a SDL of 200 and 530, 200 is for the early signals and 530 is for the long term, but however, I just found out yesterday that SDL might be a repainting indi, so maybe it is less reliable for me now.

I have tested that on EUR/USD and I changed slope line from 80 to 400 set up. That means as long as I have guppy in my direction slope line is not changing color even semtimes my amount of pips drop 30% or even more.
I was thinking in my self....."why should I go out once I am in positive trade and guppy are still in my favor...????" That is how I made a little research. Those big run doesn't happen often and it is very rare.
With that set up I doubled amount of pips and entering signals remain same but exit is much more latter.
Try and you will...

So I assume from this that you exit only when the SDL changes colour again?

So do you place one trade on the best entry that comes up and just let it ride?

I've only just started to read about the Trend Follower system, spent all of Friday reading the thread and Urban's website.

I think I've just about got to grips with it and when I loaded the template on Friday it just so happened that a decent entry (by the looks of it) appeared on usdchf. I took a screen shot at the time and was about +80 pips and rising!

I will be studying the rules this weekend and will have a go trading this system as from Monday.

Cheers folks.

According to the Goldedition rules,it is a invalid signal, although it happend to has a good result, which I also watch behind my laptop at the time.
1.macd<0,although it head north. So can we use the rule that the fast ema of macd upwards cross the slow ema of macd?
2.I can not see the green gmma, and red above the green before.
3.lag do not pass 0.15 just at the signal bar or the next.Maybe the case that lag pass 0.15 before the signal bar,is also OK?
4.Obviously this is a breakout which as Wicker told we should give up,but Wicker also told us how to comfirm a breakout<red lines and green ones change positions>,so can we entry the breakout after we have confirm it?Such as at the second upwards green arrow after the price has a rebounce?

For the point 3,we can visit retal1ato's blog.
Here are the terms about the lag and signal bar.

"THINGS TO CHECK for OPEN a TRADE (for long trades):
1 - GMMA Green emas are above Red emas.
2 - GMMA emas must agree and head north.
3 - LaGuerre is crossing 0.15 from bellow and head north.
4 - MACD is above 0.
5 - We see a EMA crossover signal indicating a long singal (Blue arrow) at the first candle or at the following candle.
6 - Check the trend watching major charts. Do the signal accord with the main trend? Is the signal on a support or a resistance point? If we see that the major trend will go in the direction of the trend, take the trade. If we think the trend is about to change or the signal not accord with the trend, give up."

it is means that lag cross 0.15 before signal bar?hehe, maybe i missunderstand the point of retal1ator.
Thanks retal1ator for this goldedtion rules.

I am listening what people are about to say about this signal. I do not know why but that scenario happen most of the time. That is that every newbie come here and first thing he/she wants to change rules. Why? Because it see one big move and possible signal before move and then try to find rules to cover that signal.
So I must disappoint you. Signal is not valid and is not by the rules. IF you do not know then I can conclude that you did not read and you do not stick by the rules from the first page.
TheWicker clearly post rules. This system can be traded when EU and US session are open. IS your signal in that time? Answer is short, NO. The only possible signal which is maybe valid because of time when occur is on the pic.

Erm, if you're referring to me pilatus then as stated in my post, I don't actually fully know the rules yet so how can I be changing them?

I simply asked you a couple of questions about your exit strategy which actually appears to be changing the rules as well anyhow?

Cheers!

Benn

There's talks of banks being lent another £60billion to bail them out. Not sure why its not on the BBC's homepage.

Also theres some mess with General Motors going on at the moment, IMO the dollars only being manipulated to make it look strong. not long before it comes right back down with a great big thud

Anyway, news aside...best to trade what you see and not what we think. Best of luck.

Btw pilatus its nice to see you are still here. Im going to go through some of the pages from this week and last week, and I may try to get back into trading this system like i used to with everyone back this week. We shall see
