Hello, could you help with settings for thv 2 4 TF Trixhisto BarV3.1.5.3 at H4 time frame please ? Which principle do you use for settings in releation to the TF ? I suppose for the first thv 2 4 TF Trixhisto BarV3.1.5.3 the settings would be 60,240,240,60 and what whould be for the second one ? If I'm wrong correct me please.

EJ H1 Chart: Note this last hour candle was a whopper....and with high relative volume. To me, this sets the bias for some days to come. Down! PA entered a resistance zone, but they are working it back up....probably to get the PA into a higher zone for more heavy shorting (which will drive it down again, and likely further). Once/if it breaks south of this zone, it will be a clear signal the big boys have loaded up on shorts and the PA will be driven down substantially for them to make good profits. Just my hypothesis.

Yes I entered this trade at 131.508 on the OPEN of the 1H chart with a stop loss at 132.694 set at high of closing candle + spread/

Target Left open

its at -20pips at the moment

Hi Cobra and group,

My first post in this thread but I have started reading the thread two months ago. I would say the THV MTF version is the best for newbie like me to scalp. Just took a trade on UJ, blue line is entry, I entered when 1 M fast change to red, but it do changed back to green though, Take profit 10 pips, stop loss 15 pips.

I have just entered my first 1M THV3 Miss Pips strategy on EURUSD. This is the setup that I did

I entered Short on EUR/USD at 132.516
with a stop loss of 15 pips and TP of 10 pips

I entered as shown on chart when the candle and histogram closed 6 red with 2 of them on the top 2. The Fast trix was also below slow trix on chart.

And PA was below cloud & coral.

since entering the trade.. as you can see that the trix has crossed and both are green.

What do I do in this situation.. Do I let it ride out and hope it doesnt hit SL or do I close early to minimise loss

The trade had finished with a LOSS of 15 pips.

Over the past couple of weeks I have read probably every single post in this thread - twice! I'm not much of a poster though.

Awesome stuff! A big applause to all THV "developpers", programers, testerst & Folks. Just "thank-you" to all of you who make the THV strategy what it is - keep it on

I am telling you guys... after digging thru so many posts I've got literally an information overload/kill. My desk is plastered with sticky notes, print outs, calculator, pens, ruler and about half a dozen coffee mugs, I guess its about time to put them in the dishwasher.

I am trading the EURUSD, 5M on demo with the standart THV MTF-settings. Mostly I am online around noonisch CET, and later after 18:00 CET (I find this a comfortable time to trade as a part timer.) My success rate for the "serious" trades is about 1 winner for every 2 loosing trades right now.
The main reason for this is, because I am either getting in too early then the trend turns, or I miss the entry by a a few candles, then instead of waiting for the next opportunity, I jump on the train - on the second last wagon - just before the trend is exhausted and... there it went towards my SL. Still too much of a gambler!

Above, I mentioned my "serious" trades... Then are those not so serious trades... You know, the ones which are so ugly that you wish you could make them disappear, but those suckers still show up in the history file like a black spot And the only solution to ease ones psyche is to declare them as dummy trades or - "i just wanted to see how something works out"-excuse

One of those trades happened to me just while ago. Check out the screenshot below. I would appreciate any input on what I am doing wrong?
My 5M chart showed at the time all lights red, the fast trix was still red (not green like in the picture), below coral, cloud broken at the bottom, all confirmed by the 15M chart. in the 1M chart I was betting on the trix to turn red and didn't wait for confirmation tough.
Needless to say that I got stopped out

I am also new, but look like you entered right at support level. I will be careful to enter at this situation.

Wanted to jump in here and share what has helped me with entries and getting stopped out. You are getting stopped out because you are going against the BIGGER TREND when scalping.

Dont forget about the importance of the Analysis Chart. Its simple H4, and gets your game plan down. I have severely simplified my charts the more I do this. I now use Bemac's setup with the M15 on THV, using the H1 and H4 on the histo, but most importantly my analysis chart. The M1 and M5 are too hectic for me to follow here at work.

I have a nice little zigzag indicator, any will do, a russian gent by the name of nen wrote them, just search the web and you will find them. A couple trendlines, and maybe a fib. Use the H4 for this. Just read through Jeff's post and you will see a proper trendline.

Ok, here is the game plan:

1. Let the zigzag give you an extreme on the H4, its an indication of a trend change, especially if its bouncing off a trendline.
2. monitor in M15 THV for the go ahead on the candle change to make sure its out of steam, the EU is like a train and takes a bit to change direction, so watch this on you M15, too early and you risk being stopped out.
set your stop close just above or below the extreme.
3.set your stop close just above or below the extreme.
4. scale into your position, scale out of your position.

This is a larger TF, but if you keep getting stopped on the smaller ones your not ready for them, i enjoy keeping my money, the higher TFs seem to be more my tolerance. I posted a pic below, scaled in from an extreme, I think its going to 1.3200, being a little stubborn at the 38.2 fib. Thats my plan, trading my plan.

Well, I just take my lumps if a trade doesn't work out. Your chart illustrates 2 things though.
1) We didn't mention this in the manual because it isn't unique to THV and we didn't want to make the manual to complicated. But, it is good practice in all forms of trading not to take a trade too late. You should have gotten in 6 bars earlier, where you first had 6 red lights, just as PA dropped below the coral and the trix crossed. It's true that if you get in at the start of a downtrend you can catch many more 10 pip trades with 6 lights. BUT, this was far from the start of the downtrend.
2) I would not have taken even the earlier trade (though it looks to have been good), because you can already see divergence is forming, where I marked the green lines. And also you have positve divergence on the 15m tf at 16:30 and on the 30 m at 1700 (GMT+3). If the trend has been going for quite a while, you need to watch out for divergence before taking trades in the direction of the trend, because at some point, you know you are going to get a retrace.This just takes practice looking at PA so you can spot divergence before the trix warns you. You will miss a few good trades that way, but also most of the loosers.

So many people are not paying enough attention to the.........NEWS !!!

The little "downburst" identified by Pip Princess was triggered by the FOMC News Announcement. Once the energy from that was expended, who knows what the PA will do. But as PP says; you can usually expect some kind of a retrace after the News action has ceased. If you like living on the edge; then by all means trade close to a news announcement. But be sure to fasten your sealtbelt first; it's usually a rather bumpy ride.............

Personally I prefer to trade non-news pairs during periods when there will be a succession of announcements............but hey, that's just me...............

Thank you Miss Pips and BeachBum. You guys have been ever so helpful and I hope all the other NooB's on this forum will find these discussions helpful to fine tuning their demo trades for the real live action. I'll be taking the PA diversions to the Trix and also try to catch the trades early on.

I guess if I do miss the trade entry early on.. Just to wait until there is a retrace then look out for the 6 Green/Red for a re-entry (also trying to look out for a non-divergence) at same time.

For a long trade fast trix should cross and be ABOVE the slow trix.

I saw the Coral in this version is loose from the trend, a bit different with THV version 2 :-)

can anyone provide a good website and easy to understand information about the divergence. I read and re-read in the babypips many times but still confuse when i use the THV. Do we look at the faster trix?
