Still with Ibfx, as I've gotten very discouraged in the Hunt...

Contemplating a going with a small live account with FXSol for a toe in the water deal, but no real heart for it right now.

On the other hand, I do have one postive development to report...

I have opened a large max leverage demo account with IBFX and named it "Serenity Now". When the live account shenanigans get me all into a twist, I sign into the demo account and trade like a madman with no lag and perfect execution until my emotional equilibrium is restored, then back to bizness in the real world, or what is currently passing for it atm...

I guess you'd call that a workaround for now.

Take into consideration the currency pair(s) you expect to trade.

Depending on a Broker's liquidity source(s) the broker may have better or worse spreads on different pairs. For instance, MB Trading usually beats Dukascopy's British Pound pair spreads while Dukascopy tends to have better Swiss Franc pair spreads. Also, Brokers have access to different currency pairs. If you expect to be trading exotic currencies you will need to find a Broker that offers those pairs.

Best regards

Dale

There close widget may be good. You know what would be a good widget? One that keeps the spread the same as price moves to your TP line. Now that is a widget I could use.

I agree totally-seems u are about as fed up with Forex Brokers as I am. I have to say that(I have been with a dozen Brokers) when they start to go downhill its only a matter of time before they disappear . When your brokers habits change for the worst-get out.

Interbank FX is introducing 5th decimal pricing!

As part of our continuing commitment to delivering the optimal customer experience we are introducing 5th decimal pricing on our currency pairs. The 5th decimal prices will be available on our demo servers on Sunday afternoon at 6pm EST on April 12th, 2009 and will be available on the live trading servers on Sunday afternoon at 6pm EST on May 17, 2009.
Why 5th decimal pricing?
Adding the 5th decimal point can reduce the spread, or difference between the buy and sell prices of a currency pair. You may notice tighter spreads as we enable the 5th decimal pricing on our trading platforms.
How will this effect Expert Advisors (EAs)?
Most EAs will be affected by the introduction of the 5th decimal point. Please make sure that you have adjusted all pip value related parameters, such as take profits or stop losses, to allow for the additional decimal point. For instance, if you are currently using a stop loss level of 20 on a four decimal pair, you would have to change the value to 200 to get the same execution on a pair with a 5th decimal. Please be aware that some EAs will need fundamental changes to ensure that they will work as you expect. We would suggest that you use your EAs on our demo accounts before using them on your live account to ensure they are working properly.
How does this effect Stop Losses, Take Profits and Maximum Deviation?
All take profit, stop loss and maximum deviation values that are expressed in points should be multiplied by 10. For example, if you would like to enter a Maximum Deviation of 5 pips, you would enter 50 into the Maximum Deviation field.
How does this effect the profit / loss values expressed in the Trade tab in the Terminal?
All profit & loss values already incorporate the 5th decimal place adjustment when they are expressed as Points in the Profit column under the Trade tab in the Terminal window in MetaTrader.
Does this effect Trailing Stops?
Yes. When you are setting a trailing stop value you will multiply it by 10.
Who do I contact if I have additional questions?
You can contact our award-winning customer service team from Sunday at 5:00pm EST to Friday at 5:00pm EST by email, phone or live chat.

Just a follow up:

Although I have found that IBFX is generally competitive with the pairs I trade;

USD/JPY, EUR/USD, GPD/USD

I did find a sense of satisfaction to be able to execute a USD/JPY trade on the FOREX.com platform which offered a spread of 4 with a 5 pip minimum allowable instead of passing up the trade when I saw the IBFX Spread soar to 11 pips plus the 3 pip allowable.

I prefer the 3 pip allowable with stop orders plus a competitive spread. I am hoping IBFX can get it together with their liquidity providers and offer a stable spread like their competition. It would be sad if IBFX is not able to be competitive.

Traders beware excessive spreads should tell you it is not the best time to be putting on a trade with the particular broker offering the excessive spread . I do not want to go into why.

Good luck IBFX team.

Dale

Hello Sumakianlee. We do not have any minimum deposit requirements. So you can fund with $100. Please let me know if you have any other questions or comments!

I personally dont like this "5th decimal spread" (aka fractional pip). It is confusing. But since I am running an EA, that should not confuse me further - i simply just multiple by 10 all the takeprofit, stoploss, spread variables and im done!

Reducing daily "requotes" and "invalid price" should be a priority with IBFX instead of a fifth decimal!
