I can surely call you Nostradamus of the market lol Spread on my ibfx does not increase, something weird. Usually it would increase like crazy.

What would be a surprise result?

The outcome couldn't have been anything unexpected. Not at the moment anyway.

I don't trade NFP. Couldn't care less. But it's always interesting to look at.

I assumed that no one is interested, less volume, no reason to increase spread. I dont trade NFP too due to my lack of knowledge but seeing how Rac analysis looks very very interesting.

Less volume is usually a factor in wider spreads.

Here is my last strat of the week for NFP....

1. limit buy 15-20ps away from current price (as of 8:28)
2. crosses involved: eu, gu, gj, ej and uj
3. sl 20-30ps, tp for half at 30ps profit, sl moved to be on remainder
4. question is long or short limit...? I know the answer but it would be signaling... (in the PF)

Hello Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has any charts explaining PA with MACD divergence. That appears to be one of my weak points at the moment.

Thanks all...

Hey Layton

Here is a more recent example of a really solid trade using Divergence as a tool.

We have a triple top and a pinbar(arrow). Now notice how price is not moving down but higher, or staying at the same level. While MACD is continuing to move lower. So price is going one way, and MACD is moving another way or diverging. This differing in opinion b/w price and the oscillator(macd), is divergence.

Hope that helps
Mike

Quick question...

How many bars after a pin is the "break of the pin signal" valid for entering into a trade?

Hello all:

So glad to have found this forum .

EUR/AUD seems to have bounced off major s/r level @ 1.86 ppz, is now @ 1.88. Daily seems to be forming a pin. Next hurdles would be 1.8883, and 38% retracement @ 1.8966. Looking for opinions on whether this pair would be good to go long, considering PA is also forming a descending triangle, but could be a long way off of breaking to the downside. I'd see entry somewhere above the mentioned hurdles...

TIA for your guidance!

Heidi

Hi adam777

I'm new here but have been reading this thread every day for a while now and have seen that question before...

Technically the pin is still valid 2 or 3 bars later but most people in here will cancel their order if it doesn't break in the next bar because we want Pins that have some momentum to them and ideally break hard on the next bar. I have experimented with both and am definitely leaning on taking the break only if it occurs on the next bar.

Hi adam777,

I'm also new here and reading everyday. While I'm sure there are better examples in here, this one worked very well for me this week as an example of a hard break.

Hi All,

Have read the first 100 pages or so of this thread and have checked out the PF. The help and advise given on here is incredible - you should all be very proud. I am seriously considering joining the PF. I have been trading for a few months spread betting UK equities but came across this thread via the T2W site. Being used to spread betting I am struggling with the concept of position / lot sizes and $ per pip. I'm sure this is simple and I'm probably making it more complicated than it needs to be - can anyone enlighten me using a (very) basic example? Thanks in advance - keep up the good work!
