A question about the MTF Cloud Histo Bars, the settings MaPeriod2 MaPeriod1 and MaPeriod3 are equal to the original ichimoku tenkan -kijun - span a+b right?

So we can prob. customize the cloud settings for the histo?

btw: nuan enjoy your posts, you should sell education dvds ;-)

Hi

I would like the alert to sound only when all 10 indicators/boxes have the same color. Is that possible ?

I'm afraid that you need to ring a bell untill MissPips comes up with a new genius indicator which can do that.

I have noticed that the MTF Histogram is not indicating the proper color. In this example, the 1 MIN fast TRIX light is red, despite the fact that the 1 MIN fast TRIX line is green.

I also noticed this a lot on the 5 MIN fast TRIX light - it would be red, when the 5 MIN fast TRIX line was actually green, and had been for at least 5 minutes or more.

Is there anything I can do to fix the problem? It kept me out of several valid entries today.

I know this because when I reloaded the chart, the MTF Histogram lights reset to the PROPER color based on analysis of the TRIX indicators from the various time frames.

Dan, you for sure messed something up.

I would recommend a reinstall or use one of the templates posted before.

BTW: when you post a template please don’t scale in, I needed 10 minutes to figger out when this happened as we have different broker times.

Lots of scalp longs opportunities on the Gbp/Usd pair; same goes with the Eur/Usd as well. Updates on longs committed at 1.4139 and 1.4293. Take care.

Take note Eur/Usd has not really make a 'move' yet...please wait for me...using all my ammos on cable already.

I can think of a few reasons for this

1. The Trix Histo uses the Trix V5, and on the chart you posted it looks like you are using a different version. The settings are a bit different between versions, so the trix is not always the same color on both of them.

2. In the screenshot you posted, you are referencing 7:01 yesterday, but you posted today, and I'm assuming from the way the histo looks you took the screen shot today. If I look back today at that time on my screen, which has been running continuously, indeed the colors of the 1m histo don't match the trix. However, at the time, they gave me proper signals. This is because, the trix histo calls the trix with the default settings, which are 750 bars. If you look back more than that the trix itself doesn't work, so neither does the histo.

3. The trix itself does repaint by one bar sometimes. For example, if it is about flat, and above the bar you are looking at it is red and and ends red, the trix histo will be red. If the next bar has a strong up movement, the trix above it will go back and repaint the closed bar to green. In most cases that I have observed the trix histo keeps the red setting. Until the trix is fixed so that it doesn't repaint, that can't be fixed.



That's all I can think of. If you see this again today can you post a current screenshot in real time and pm me so I can check mine.

The manual is correct. The orignal THV rules called for you to wait until price breaks the Coral. I know that some of the advanced traders don't follow that rule on the 1 min, but since I am not that advanced, that is what I used for the rules I tested. The only time I let myself break it is when there is a divergence, in which case I only look for PA to break the Cloud.

Quite so. These rules are just what grabbed my attention as being effective, and closely related to the original way of trading THV. There could well be a more profitable or easier or simpler way. That's what's good about having the forum. Now everybody can work on finding it.

I've had a few PMs asking me to explain how to set the timeframes in the Trix histogram. I'd recommend looking at the examples in the templates other users so kindly posted, but in any case if you want to control the timeframes:
1. Set the autotimeframe parameter to false.
2. Pick the four timeframes you want in ePeriod1, ePeriod2, ePeriod3, ePeriod4.
4. Pick which trix line you want for each timeframe. 0 is slow, 1 is fast.
5. Set the row in which you want each timeframe to appear in P1_position, P2_position, P3_position, P4_position.
6. Repeat as needed by dragging as many new instances of the indicator onto the chart as you like.

If you set autotimeframe to true, it picks the next two higher timeframes (for example on a 1 m chart it will show 5m and 15m fast and slow). If you set UseSecondAutoTF to true as well, it will show the third and fouth timeframes up (for example on a 1m chart it will show 30 and 60 fast and slow.) You can use this if you want to have two instances of the histogram on a chart and then change the timeframe on the chart, without having to reset all the histograms manually.

Scalped short on Gbp/Usd 1-min time frame. It was shown by Tradewell before. This short divergence play setup is one of my favorites for THV Divergence Trading. The shorts are further supported by the fact that price actions have 'Zoomed' my median line and naturally, the median line has to be 'Re-tested'; thereby, the rationale of taking the scalp shorts for price actions to be returned to the said median line. Take care.

In the attached pic you can see what I was describing about the histogram colors not matching the trix, where the yellow box is. At the very end of the 10:16 bar and the very first seconds of the 10:17 bar (GMT+3) the fast trix was green. If you look at the 10:16 bar, this makes sense, because it was a green up bar. By the end of the 10:17 bar, PA had closed down and the trix above it was red. The trix then went back and repainted the 10:16 bar to red. (I didn't take a screenshot of that because it happend in about 3 seconds at the very end of the 10:16 bar and beginning of the 10:17 bar, but I was watching it as it happened and I have taken similar screenshots in the past.) The histogram at 10:16 remained green. You could have have taken a bad trade based on that, but that is life. The histogram is telling you what happend in real time, and at the very close of the 10:16 bar and the start of the 10:17 bar, the fast trix was green. If you reload the indie, all the bars will be red. But that is hindsight and we have to trade in real time.

Hi Macman,

I was trading today, and I saw a trade that explained what you mean and I realized that you are right.

This was an oversight on my part because usually when PA breaks the Coral and meets the other conditions it has already broken the cloud. But not always. There are cases where the other conditions are met and PA is above/below the Coral but not above/below the cloud. In that case for a regular trade (non divergence trade) I trade like the original THV rules: PA should break the Coral and the cloud. I didn't even think to mention it because I just trade like that without thinking about it. For a divergence trade, all I require is for PA to break the cloud.
