Yes I made a template with about 9 levels. Works to understand visually what the EA does.

The ATR would adjust the Buffer according to recent volatility.

have you tried testing in other period to see if you are curve fitting?

It is indeed alittle bit curve fitted (over 6 month period).
But that's not different if you use the original 30x20 settings.
With all settings we are just guessing what might work out in the future.
Unfortuantely there is nothing that will ensure us that a 30x20 will be better
than an optimized 42x11 setting.

Darn. So you are trying to tell me that future results can't be based of past performance?!?!?!? oh mannnnnnnnnn.... sadly, the market is always changing and we never know when it will stop working the way it has in the past. I hope by the time it changes I'm rich... if not, back to the drawing board. That is what this thread, forum, etc. is all about anyway, new ideas and ways of trading. If you have something that works all the time then you wouldn't want to learn something that doesn't.

Anybody got any ideas on the big spike?

Got stopped out on the AUD/CAD today and now just got stopped out on the AUD/NZD, gone from 750 to 340 in like 2 hours

I didn't trade to today. Calender seemed really messy.
Don't know what excatly moved it .

Really? All I saw was the news later this evening... I'm impressed with your ability to avoid these news spike moves. I'm hurting pretty bad... aud/cad stop out, aud/nzd stop out... and got a huge DD now... painful.

I didn't expect this spike right now, frankly.
My thought was that it's not worthwhile trading today when
I run the risk of getting in to a trade which will probably last till
the high Impact News later this evening.
The next 2 days are a no-no so I turned it of after monday to
not get caught up in the trade.

Well, must say it was a great call on your part then I'm back to where I was, profit wise, about Nov. It is kind of painful, I must say, but.. you have to take everything in strive. That is what trading is all about.

Randomness. You know how it works, a bunch of big boys may have put on trades, forcing the market to a desired target, or positioning it for something else.

The AUD/NZD is a pair which has a lot less volume than the majors as you know, therefore it would be a lot easier for these institutional traders to force the pair in a particular direction, for no reason but to hit a desired target.

Yeah, I agree with you .... One time I took a trade with just 5 standard lots and it actually moved price by quite a few pips ... Imagine going in with 50 standard lots, you'll have your own spikes too ...

you mean, we are the enemies of ourself? how many people trading this method live? sometimes my whole lots counts over 5 standartlots cause of my big balance i have. and you think with this little peanuts and the peanuts of all the other nanningbob traders we change AUD/NZD like this? trending now all time. more than like the last 3 month of 2008. the vola changed the more EA downloads happens?

Nah I highly doubt that.
Even if it's a a thinly traded pair we are still very very small
parts of the market.

If you look at parts of the Results they don't look that spectacular. Only
smaller winning trades and strings off losers every once awhile.

many of you heart about the change at ibfx. they'll go 5digit at the 12th april with their demoservers and at 17th may with their liveservers. i hope the spread problem will be solved and we could trade this method like in the last year.
