I thought I'd want to bring this up, since maybe someone got some tips on this topic. When trading some kind of chart-pattern you usually have a pivot-point or high/low of bar etc. to put your stop. A "logical" point in some way.
When entering a trade like we do, there's no such thing. Sometimes there's another resistance than where you entered a bit higher so you may choose to put your stop above that one. But most of the time there's not much you can use...
So how do you put your stops? I tend to look at a chart and think "hmm...Ignored

DislikedSo how do you put your stops? I tend to look at a chart and think "hmm yea 40 pips in the eur/usd looks OK" so I use that kind of stop. And it works out OK most of the time, but you know maybe I can improve on this when I get some input from you.
Do you use hard stops at all or mostly mental stops?
