I did not pay much mind to the net profit because i was using 0.01 lots. I pay more attention to percentage of wins since it was 100%. I would post next time whenever the win% is lower than 100%.

Good luck!

We are supposed to be optimizing for a 3-week period, not 2 days.

Hi All -
Just wanted to report back in for duty . As some of you know, my wife became very ill a few weeks back and ended up having to have surgery on Wednesday. It went much better than we could have hoped for and she is making a wonderful recovery so far. So, I not only have more time now but mentally I'm back in the game as well.

I finished a new version of the ea with the stealth t/p and s/l and am forwarded testing it now. Damon will be back very soon and I want him to take a peek before we release it. Thanks for hanging in with us..

Gary

Hi sng!

We've all been down the road of messing with a computer that works perfectly only to regret it big time when we 'do one more thing'--- I share your pain.

Jump on back in......the waters just fine. We look forward to you and your new speedy computer joining the party! I forgot to look and see if Damon and you had agreed on a setup to test (post 1). If not, just look for an open setup and go for it. If I can help with any questions, just shout.

Gary

Here I go again.

I want to apologize to everyone and especially to Damon and Gary.

I had recently gotten my computer working perfectly then for some strange reason I got the notion that it would be wise of myself to download Windows Automatic Updates.

So I did.

Stupid FOOL that I was!

As soon as I did that the computer no longer worked worth a sh*t, several programs would no longer work at all, it froze up seven times and used up 8 gigs of memory to boot!

So, you know what I did next...

Complete deconstruction/reconstruction....

I just wanted to be consistent.
Next time I'll post the values where testing gave the same results and you can pick the best as you feel.

FXCBS: they offer other accounts, but only the Pro (opening with 10 grand) is ECN. if I'm not mistaken.

Here is what I would propose. I have attached a spreadsheet detailing this week's testing results (haven't done mine yet - sorry). There is missing data and probably too much data. Can someone here propose what final data we need so that we can eliminate redundancy? And someone here may have a better idea. But perhaps Steveg100 can start and check his numbers, then pass it on to #2, etc, until we have all gone through it. This system would break down if someone did not do their numbers or was perhaps out of town... what'cha all think? This is in Excel 97-2003 format.

In my view we can get scattered here. I suggest that Gary and Damon look at this proposal, and come back with their recommendations for what information should be reported (and in what format). I would welcome starting this next week.

Great idea!

The spread sheet looks very nice and puts all the info in once place for quick reference. My two cents are as follows......beside the parameter settings, the info I find most useful are: the percentage of winning trades, the profit (anything above zero and I'll trade the pair/filter for the week) and the percent drawdawn (if very large, the risk may be to high for profits gain). If I have two or more sets of parameters that give me the same profit, then I use the drawdown to help me pick the set of parameters to trade for the week.....or I'll take the smaller s/l among the choices (again, this for me represents less risk).

Thanks for the idea - Gary

I tried to optimize this evening. I got no results on the first pass-through. The Journal window gave the message "21 results discarded as insignificant." Further on I got repeated messages "Test Generator: Unmatched data error."

Where did things go wrong?...go wrong?...go wrong?
