Don't know if I am allowed to ask this question, but I will do it anyway

How big is your acount / How much money have you made or lost trading?

To be fair I'll start with myself : at this moment my account is 1057 $. Since I started using something you could call "money management" I have put in 1162 $. Before I knew that something existed like MM I had put in 9616 $. I also spent 713 $ on courses and books on trading until now. So the totals are:

- 11881 $ (money put in account + courses)
+ 1057 $ (account)

profit - loss at this moment :

- 10824 $



How are you traders doing at the moment?

my cat tamping on keyboard has made a lot of $$. I think she read the book about random walk..
I will not say how much is in my accounts but i will say that year to date im up 316% across my forex portfolio, thats not including what i take out to live on.

Hi Kurka.

I think 316% YTD plus living costs is very, very good. I think it's usefull to the newbies like me know if trading forex is a viable way of living or if people do it just for fun.

I really don't want to know the size of others portfolio but I wonder how many people could increase his/her account balance by 10K-20K USD or EUR per month.

AmatPro - thanks for sharing. It's something of a cautionary tale for the newer members among us. I hope you don't mind if I respond with some more questions without revealing the size of my own account

Among the books that you used, are there any you would recommend? Having worked through a couple of general books on forex before I started trading, I wouldn't mind moving on to some more advanced titles.

How about the courses? I followed a banner ad for FXCM's online course and thought it could actually be useful if it lives up to the description.

Hopefully you'll see a turn-around in your fortunes from this point on!

I believe I left 'loosing' country a couple of months ago and am now taking a break in the 'break even zone'.

As for the courses, I learned a lot from Marc McRae, who sent me an email this morning advising me an ebook by Dirk Dutoit, that I bought yesterday after reading some topics here on the FF forum. :
