Hey hsa -

I have no doubt that this would work on an ECN based network, but you will want to optimize it as such to that platform.

Do you have a demo account with them? Do they offer an unlimited demo or is it only for a short period of time?

Good Morning Richard -

I just finished checking the GBPUSD H1 SLF and did get it provide some optimised data which I'll post next.......run these numbers and see if you come up with a small profit.

So I did that to see if it would help. Did not help at all, still get "There were 21 passes done during optimization, 21 results have been discarded as insignificant"
Is anybody else having this problem besides Mary and me?

Hi,

if you want to see what's going on behind the scenes, you can right click on the optimiziation results (or graph, can't remember exactly which) tab and untick the 'discard if insignificant' checkbox. This shows you that it is actually trying. I had the same issues with EUR/USD.

Hi I just did another optimization and now it worked, but have the same profit level of 22.00 for slope 9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20, and 21. So now which one do I use???? By the way a big thank you for the advise.. Even though I didn't get to use it because now the darn thing works....How did you fix your problem when that happen to you on the EUR/USD? RICHARD
UPDATE..OPPS I had the wrong dates in the start and end dates. I only optimised one day...ummmm does that mean I don't have eough data in History...will set top box to 1,000,000 and leave bottom box at 250,000. Later Richard

As we are trading "24/7" rather than only during the day (GMT) we need to change the expert properties.
There are columns for that. We can change multiple column for these timeframe settings. My question is whether we need to change the Value column or others as well?

That's great!
The biggest difference in normal and ECN MT4 is that you cannot place SL and TP along with the order. You need to put in the order and then modify it for SL and TP. There's a pdf doc on MBTrading's website detailing differences. Other than this everything seems pretty normal.

I do have a demo a/c with them, it's for unlimited time as far as I've been advised. They seem to be very helpful, PM me for a contact who can create you a demo.

It's still in beta so they have some funny spikes and occasional dissappearing orders unfortunately, but they are on full steam ahead in adopting it. They say they won't release final version until every bug is 100% sorted. They haven't got a timeframe for this but the guy I spoke to sad it can be weeks or maybe a couple of month.

Anyway, their spreads sometimes go close to zero especially on EU, but they have commissions (check their w/site for details). I don't mind commissions, since I KNOW what they're making money at, rather than having no clue when they will knock my SL out, if you know what I mean...

Damon I am closing in on the problem that Mary and I have been having. I can optimise from 3/4/09 to 3/21/09 ok but if I go for a long period of time thats when I have the problem and it all started with the trade time change. When I use the old time of start trade at 6 and end trade at 19 and end trade on Fri of 17 it works fine.. all the way back to 3/2/09. Looks like the system runs out of data or overloads on 3/20/09 @ 19.00 in the journal.... Richard

EUR-USD on H1 timeframe using SSF filter didn't give me any significant results. It's funny that the 30M did quite well, and then nothing for H1...

If you want to play around a bit, I have always wondered how some of the exotics would do:

euraud
eurcad
gbpchf

Other wise I have you done for a 2nd with the EurUsd H1 SSF Filter, if you want another permanent one beyond that, we can maybe go into the eurjpy or pick up some slack from the GbpUsd no shows.

Let me know your thoughts...
