Sounds like you are full of data then .

And you still had no results huh? What did it say in your journals tab after you ran the optimization?

Okay...that tells me then that trading this pair with this filter and this TF was not profitable over the last 3 weeks and we should not trade it again this week.

Just to verify...the slope box was the only box you had checked and s/l was at 45 pips?

I just finished switching computers and starting everything over from scratch. I got the same results as before for the GBPJPY and GBPCHF. I double, triple, and quadruple checked everything. Still no luck...results discarded as insignificant.

Could be as well that it is just not profitable.

Which pairs, TF's and slope filters would you like me to double check for you tomorrow?

Hey Tom -

If you had CSF Filter to true, then the single slope filter of 11 was not needed. Other than that your Break Even number seems a bit high. Did you have a lower number that gave the same resutls as 50? As long as it wasn't too low may be better to use that one.

Thanks for posting....Damon

Hey hsa -
Perhaps you missed the memo. My fault for starting without everything in place.
At the moment we are optimizing for this week based on the last 3 weeks of trading. So, for this week you should be optimizing for the dates of 03/02/09 - 03/21/09.

damn... sorry!
it was too late at night, I missed it. I restarted optimizing this morning but had to leave so will finish it in the evening, hope that's OK

***EDIT***

Damon,

There are two things you could change in the optimization doc:
1. add Time frame (24Hr) and Friday close to CSF/SSF section please - it's in SLF but not in CSF/SSF
Also, do we need to change both Value and Start or only Value?

2. in Step 2. /1 you say go to Tools and then click on Charts. Could you add click on Options first

I had some weird results along the way. But as I recall, 50 and 60 were the 2 values that were the best - lowest DD and highest profit.

Do you want me to re-run?

Hey - off-topic here, but has anyone heard of this broker and does anyone know anything about them? They have fixed spreads and allow scalping. Min = $500 for a mini. I have read all that I can find on them, and am running a demo right now with positive results. They 'say' that they welcome EAs. The demo is doing way better than FXDD. I think FXDD may be not being too kind to EAs these days??

Damon, does this EA have a stealth mode already?

hey flapper,
According to Forexpeacearmy they are alright, 4 stars (although small no. of reviews)
Read the review here.
***EDIT
what I don't understand is why they state "no dealing desk" at MT4 section, when at the acc. types section they refer to "dealing room services". What the hell is that ?
***

Actually, Damon, I'm interested whether this EA will work with ECN (like MB Trading's platform will be).
That would eliminate all concerns regarding execution and hidden or visible SL's.

Hey Piper's,

My first thought is that is one heck of a lot of drawdown. Most I have seen yet. I would say that average DD is under 1.5%/ Might want to reconsider before trading this pair this week.

Thanks for optimizing for us

Not to worry, today will be fine for the optimization.

I will change the .doc as you have requested. Can you be a little more specifric about your question regarding changing both value and start?

Hey Tom -

Not at all. If that was the best number than that is what it was.

Just seemed a bit higher than the norm is all, but that doesn't really mean anything.
