Wordpress is a good platform for blogging but i dont understand when you say futures ?
I already tried wordpress but can't find an user option to share files

FF use similar to phpbb. Here are the link http://www.phpbb.com/ you can download it and install to your webserver (if you have control). In order to enable username/password authentication you need mail server (application). receiving mail and response to user automaticcally.
http://khelemen.zapto.org/forum/ sample of forum that I host at my home server but I'm using dynamic DNS, I need to pay for mail service from the provider and yet I have only 512k upload bandwith (means user download capability).

I'm almost sure that FF uses VBulletin but isn't free to use but if I can't find anything similar I'll buy the licence.
Will have a look to phpbb
Would be great if FF would offer that option for developement purpose

I have been already searching for the forum/blog software Cobra speaks about. I can find free hosting sites with plenty of features but the biggest drawback is posting charts. They have file sharing but it is inconvenient to read a post then have to go find the chart elsewhere in a folder. Images can be uploaded to posts but only as URL's and not images within the post. Blogspot works better for this but is otherwise somewhat "clunky" to use and doesn't have file sharing, only image posting. I like the FF usability and it would be easy for current users to use the same kind of system. I asked FF what they use, hoping I could find some company who hosts free sites using the same software (haven't heard back yet). 1GB free storage seems to be the norm, which should be plenty. Some site out there are way to complex. We just want the development team to jump on the site and start working and not fiddle around with a bunch of settings or a steep learning curve. We want to spend time developing, not learning new software. If only FF would allow "private" threads....

Closest open source alternatives are phpBB3 and SMF.

Yep, the PHPBB version 3 has the futures we need.
We (a friend of mine is helping me) are already installing it, hope that it will be ready on sunday to start the challange of the EA developement.

hi folks!
i try few times already to download updated v3 in page 1 but couldn't. i do it in my home and office.
i need the newest version since my coral disappear after upgrading my platform.
i just notice it yesterday... but i think the coral disappear nearly 1 month..
. anybody can pin point me to the latest one please...
