Is MT4 EA programming just distraction?

I suspect that the entire MT4 trading platform(and especially its MQL programming language) are designed as distractions from the obvious-IN THE LONG RUN,Forex is not an investment and the longer u play-the more u pay(your Broker). This may be the exact reason that this software is popular among Brokers. Oddly-I hardly place live trades anymore(im too busy programming my next EA-LOL).

I suspect it's to get more people to place trades.

Look at people promoting faps, or forex boomerang, or other commercial EAs. How many of those lure in complete forex newbies and their money?

I wouldnt fualt anyone for trying to make a buck-I have been around Forex since 2004 -thru a dozen or so Brokers-made crazy money and then lost it again.Though In-the-Black(marginally),the whole experience has left me with the opinion that no matter how good and sophisticated the EA - "time" (and the evolving market conditions) will render it obsolete. Yet I still program. I still trade(for fun or testing) and will,one day, program the PERFECT EA !
