Something strange happend.
On demo 3 levels where opend and after retracement closed at the same time. First level made small loss second tiny proft third good profit.
On live account. Thrid level was closed after TP was hit. Two stayed open and closed after second level hit TP. Both with profit. Why?
Same EA same settings.

what do you think 100x80 30x20 60x90 are, these are exactly that.
they just trade for the range.

Don't get pissed of when you don't get a trade for days with the 30x20 buy sell EA. I still prefer it over the bidirectional range trading EAs.
The distance from EA approch adds an extra expectancy to the whole systems. After all trading is just a game of odds.

Yesterday was a 7 level trade. There were no opportunities for me to get out as the red news items were approaching and so I let it ride.

This pair is moving just the way we expect it to.

Once it gets to level 6 I look to see if I can get out with little or no losses, just to be on the safer side.

Yes watch out for interest rate changes, they move the market more than anything. FOMC meetings, 8 times a year, and bombshell news stories. The next bomb shell news story coming up is GM and Chrysler, if they have to file bankruptcy. The other one is if Bernanke is testifying before congress. He can say something that will make the market go nuts if it is big enough. That pretty much covers most of they years big news.

Last time Bernanke opened his mouth the reaction was pretty disappointing.
From the experience that I have gained sofar with this EA the downgrade on Jan 14 was the only serious threat. And even this couldn't stop my demo account which was runnig at insane risk. It's now up almost 1600%.

Does anybody have a 5 decimal version of the good old
30x20 buy sell EA? Could anyone change the attachted EA to 5 decimals?
I added a 0 in the template which worked good but we still need to change the EA. My MB Trading MT4 spreads are 4-8 all time. Never get bigger than 10 while IBFX stays at 21. Still works very well on IBFX with redicoulus spread 1700% ROI. Now image with 4-8 pips spread...

Now how sweet is that? This rivals most brokers on EUR/USD spread wise.

The other problem with MB is you also have to change the way orders are sent. I'm not a coder so I don't know how to do it but in MB in order to make a market order or etc. with MB you have to send it without TP/SL then modify it after the order is opened. While I have a 5min buy/sell EA that works in backtesting on MB live it does nothing.

I downloaded MB trading but have not gotten the EA to work. If it doesnt take TP then how do I make my system work on it. I would be missing closes ????

After talking to some guys on Skype and in email messages, something that needs to be considered. When you demo, demo the amount of money you will live trade. You can do that by typing the amount in when you open the demo account. So if you plan on live trading 300 dollars, demo trade 300 dollars first so you understand the margin requirements, leverage, etc. of your broker company. There are so many variables it is difficult to give recommendations when people ask me. Do you have a dime account or a penny account. Is it 100:1 or 400:1 leverage. 5 digit broker or 4 digit broker. Do they margin call you at 0 or do they let your margin go in the hole? You can only know these things if you demo what you will do with a live account. So make sure you understand the variables you will run into. The hardest lessons I have learned is not having losing trades but losing money because I margined out on winning trades. So Please demo what you plan on doing live. This will give you your best example of what you can run into.

Even though you find me posting ridiculous Return with the 30x20 I do not
trade this way with my live account. I do this to see how much news and moving and shaking this EA can handle at it's limit. On live account I would limit myself to 5-7% DD in case all levels get stopped out. (Which rarely happens [October was an exception]).
If my high risk demo account blows up there will be 50-60% DD ... which leave me with 850% Return ^^.

If the ea's that are developed by Nanningbob were to have a hidden TP/SL built it, In other words these values would not be sent to MB but reside within the ea then that would solve it?

When I first started tradeing ea's I had bought one from a fellow called Steinitz. His ea's hide the TP values and tp when value is hit. But he does not distribute the mq4 file so one can't see the coding.

I've done some searching and here is some code that may contain the script that hides the tp or stploss from the broker and is executed by the ea instead. I don't know code so i don't know what to do with it if it is indeed there.

Yes, because essentially you aren't putting in a stop loss order at the same time as a market order. Since everything is managed by the EA, order wise, you don't have active stop loss or take profit orders in place. The side effect is if your computer somehow goes offline you won't have a protective stop. If the market suddenly spikes because of some major world news and gaps largely you might end up losing your entire account before the EA can even manage a market order while a stop loss in place does at least give your broker something in place to try to pretend to honor, perhaps .

This can be mitigated to a degree by putting in a pseudo stop loss. I.e. If your real stop loss is 50 pips then the EA has that as a target value and monitors to see if we cross that line and then stop us out ...However in the mean time we can enter a stop loss of 100 pips for the broker to see.
If the machine for some reason goes off line then we still have the 100 pip stop loss as a protection.

So something like:
Real_Stop_Loss = 50
Pseudo_Stop_Loss = 100

The Steinz EA does this

That is what I'm thinking is best. The problem being with MB you need to enter a market order without a predefined stop loss or TP then use the order modify command to modify it. I wish I knew how to code...
