Edit: Added third chart showing pinch & fib extensions. Overall, start is weak and this may turn out to take longer to finally achieve a breakout, one way or the other. But for now, we will see. They sometimes get a lazy start...
The 1M chart shows a very slow upwards drift. Meanwhile the 5M chart (not attached) may be setting up for a Dual Pinch. If it does, then this could pick up some steam.

Nice post, I liked very much the example of the musicians.

We use the trading simulator in the THV Team a lot to get costumed to the different Trix pattern.

You gain THV experience fast and without any risk.

I too use the simulator but do not seem to be able to see more than one screen at a time. When I see a TRIX move on say M5 I also want to see what happened on M1 etc. Maybe I am doing something wrong?

Yes, is the unique disadvantage that has the simulator.

The THV settings are for short term day trading and help to secure the trades, it’s impossible to catch the bottoms, depending on the TF, using this THV rule.

I do not trade within the cloud as a rule. I am studying both settings and feel confident when PA is below or above both clouds at the same time. Today I was watching how the candles were respecting the cloud perfectly and bouncing off the cloud in the 30 min TF and the 7,22,44. At the same time the rules did apply for the 2,3,5 although the PA was considerably above the 2,3,5. It made it easier emotionally to enter the trades.
Just learning, and testing.

I can no longer say that I don't trade this system. I was looking for a short anyway, But I did it with Cobras THV. Vista still sucks

How true. Institutional traders add onto their profitable position whereas retail traders like us (or most of us) scale back on profitable position taking profit and letting the rest run up. This is for good reasons too. We trade with our own hard earned money and they don't.

Price DOES go in any direction, even if trending nicely. It has its own squiggly way to move from one point to another, and as soon that point has been reached, it comes back again zigzagging to a lower point than the start if it's trending down, or a higher low if it intends to keep on rising. Or the inverse sometimes.

If you watch shorter timeframes, you can see that there's a decision being made almost every 10-15 pips, do we go up, let's try lower again, etc.
Support and resistances are being broken, then tested, and retested, and maybe re-broken in inverse direction, ad infinitum.
And it most often tends to come back to a middle level.

What timeframe do you usually trade from? The mistake we most usually make is to trade from a particular setup in a given timeframe, and then try to apply or react to price patterns that pertain to a smaller or higher TF.
This gets us totally confused after a while.

First of all, you have to be confident with your own money and risk management, thus accepting that you might be wrong after all, and that it's ok because it is part of the game; this way you'll be able to pull the trigger without worrying too much about the outcome. If you are trading live and are freezing, go back to a demo account, or try to practice on week-ends with the simulator. Appropriate timing is a habit that has to be developed. We tend to analyze too much and react much later, usually after the fact. Time is paramount especially in small timeframes.

Then you should see what the trend is up to, under several points of view, and at that particular moment (the market can change trends a lot, especially in shorter timeframes). Know the average swing expectation on each TF, so you can gauge easily if it's most likely to come back or will continue for a while in that direction. Know also which is the average time that particular swing uses to last. DRAW TRENDLINES on each. BOTH ways (there is always an underlying opposite trend going on).

Chose at least two, better 3 IMO, correlated TFs to watch simultaneously.
Have enough patience to wait for the exact moment to make the entry, that you will have defined in advance according to your own system and expectations, and enough swiftness to act immediately when the moment has come.
