Yeah like I said earlier it seems as if the whole world has taken the day off.

Don't seem right really. The bloke has only been doing the job for a couple of weeks and gets a holiday already.

I reckon it's more of an SS trade - but the jury is still out on that too. I'll leave it to a higher order to make the final decision.

RC - you there? Or are you still pretending to be one of them there figment things?

What time do folks usually start tracking the markets?
I'm looking to join in the fun and would like to maximize my potential by hitting some of the "sweet spot" of market trading hours, so please advise if you have anything that is worth watching. I've typically heard/read that London is the time to trade, so was going to target that unless someone suggests otherwise.

as far as i(newbie) know... Generally, overlap of NY and London time. aka. started 50 mins ago till another 3hrs 10 min.

From looking at the charts I get the impression that it usually kicks off about 7.00am GMT and then gets busy again around 1-2pm GMT. Also, as Knightz says it can carry on though out the European afternoon/US morning though today may be a bit different due to the holiday.

Thanks for the quick replies. As I'm GMT-5, I was expecting to start around 3:30 local time for me (8:30GMT), and then trade through the end of the London session, while keeping an eye on the US afternoon (as its afternoon for me as well). Seems that this should provide ample opportunities to meet my goal of 50 pips/day.

Big key (at least for me) is to make sure my mindset is taking what the market gives, instead of trying to make the market give me what I want. Look forward to seeing some folks bright and early tomorrow. Was planning to start today, but my son was up sick half the night so I needed to get some sleep from 3-6 before heading off to work. From the looks of things I didn't miss much. Of course, tomorrow is another day and there will always be another trade/setup coming.

The fact that 1.27 has already been used (and abused?) is my primary concern. Otherwise, a long in the area of 1.27 looks like a straight forward trade with the gap close offering more incentive.

A clear move above 1.2808 should close this gap...nice movement thus far.
