Hi Justin,

regarding Safety of Funds, in that page it is stated that Commodity Futures Contracts and Forex are ineligible for SIPC protection. What kind of "peace of mind" do you propose to Forex Traders?

thank you,

regards,

Johnlucas.

John ~

Forex accounts cannot be insured by SIPC by definition. That’s certainly not unique to us. This is one of the main reasons that the NFA and CFTC has worked so hard to raise capital requirements of forex brokers…so that customer funds are as secure as possible. As I’ve said often in the past, keep in mind that the most obvious “risk” to customer funds at the firm level is when firms are trading against their customers and thus maintaining positions in this volatile market. Since we just pass your trade through, we aren’t subjected to that level of risk that a deal desk faces daily. Probably the next biggest form of risk is customer account supervision, meaning that the firm must have good policies in place to observe all accounts and make sure that they are closed before they go below zero. We have both manual and automated systems that monitor this. Outside of that, we’re not a bank, we don’t lend money, etc. Just things to keep in mind.

Justin, speaking of safety of funds, I'd like to know your thoughts regarding segregating client from corporate funds. Are there any plans by MBT to institute this policy in the near or long term?

From an accounting and operating standpoint, customer’s non-margined Forex funds and MB Trading Futures, Inc.’s (“MBTF”) operating funds are separately maintained. MBTF maintains a separate account at Wells Fargo Bank, a federally insured bank, for the exclusive benefit of customers in which Forex funds that are not used to satisfy margin or trading requirements will be deposited for safekeeping. Forex funds that are held in the separate account will not be used in the day-to-day operations of MBTF.

Afternoon All.

I have recently had my Demo account activated and am trying to use a varity of Expert Advisers to test the platform performance.

Account went live on the 6th December which is when I loaded the EA's. All EA's have smiley faces to show that they have been loaded correctly but I have not had one trade in 5 days. N.B. Trades using the same EA's are working on other broker platforms.

Have contacted Justin and Jason at MBT but nothing has been resolved to date.

Has anyone else experienced similar problems and if so have they been resolved, and how?

Thanks in advance.

Nigel

Did you have them reprogrammed to handle the 5th decimal place? Are they using Instant Executions? Did you read the page on MB's site about the differences?

Also most likely culprit is including a tp/sl in the order. you have to send a order with zero tp/sl then add 'em with OrderModify.

Justin,

Do you offer forex options for the spot market? I know the CME has them available on futures currencies.

Thanks,

The Broker-PlugIn crap doesnt exist with MB - your orders go straight thru to the banks almost INSTANTLY. There's no incentive for them to cheat you since they work for commish. they want you trading as much as your little heart desires. scalp, position, whatever...

Hi there MBT,

It was suggested from a thread I found that MBT is a market maker and not a true ECN simply because their argument was that the true interbank market only accepts 100K lots and ....

Any truth here?

No....that must have been an old thread. That misconception is no longer a valid argument - many banks accept orders under 100k, especially for brokers with a long and steady relationship with them.

That is not accurate.

If you right click on the FX Board and select 'Show Order Entry', it should appear. You can then save the layout as is, and the OE should remain attached to the FX Board without disappearing.

I have the beta downloaded and I've not experienced it disappearing.

I understand, but your OE should still not disappear. When you add the OE, do you save your layout? Try renaming your layout when you save it and see if that fixes it.
