removing ADX from TP calculation has so far earned 2 TP today on gbpusd and gbpchf. gbpjpy almost hit tp.

correction an hour later, it just hit its tp. total gain of those 3 TP is 10%

The later Matrixebiz, I think its just normal Forex behaviour.

Though, as I was lying in bed deciding whether I should get up to go to work , I have just been thinking about placing a trade the opposite way since it rare that it goes straight to TP, but its pretty difficult to compete with the EA, i.e. select the pair the TP and send in such a short time.

sundog, we are all familiar with the obstinate detemination of a trade to go instantly umpteen pips against us to kick off with, even if it does eventually go in our favour.

Your post, along with others here, has germinated an idea. Thinking about the KG Relative Strength EA, trading the DC; what if I programmed in a counter-trade to the main one to be taken out when the DC trade is validated and sent, tp say 20 pips and sl 20 pips - a quick in and out whatever happens?

What do you think?

can someoen look at my fileset or something? not really sure what i'm doing wrong as its just sarars set except not trading nzd cad aud and i still haven't hit a positive day. started fine today then went sour.

are we trading or playing roulette? if the EA bets on black we bet on red? reminds me of snapcracklepips toasted turkey to trade agains that firebird EA.

Mine was a serious question that arises from an oft-repeated situation. If you are such a great trader that you can avoid the situation I described in my post, then what are you doing here?

Contribute more carefully or stay stum. Even more usefully, share with us how you avoid the situation I described in my post.

Yes, I am annoyed. As the writer of this EA, I expect a bit more courtesy.

You could goto to vegas and bet on roulette. I will make you another wager. I bet Steve makes more profit from his wonderful ea than you do from roulette.

Hi Steve,

I think it's a good idea for programming with the counter trade but we additional condition.In order to minimise the lost, we should start with SL=10 pips, while TP=10 or the best way by JS with AddBEP=5, activate BEP when at 10 pips profit. By doing this, we would obtaining to benefit, 1st..if most of the trade closed by JS, it is confirm that most of the DC Cross is moving against our DC cross direction prior it move to our favour. 2nd..JS also will allow us to maximise the profit.

For our discussion purpose, say the DC send signal to buy the pairs, but instead of buying, we send order for sell with SL=10, AddBEP=5, JS start at 10 pips profit.The moment the order closed by JS i.e 10 pips profit, send the EA to make an order buystop with 10 pips above the closing price of the JS. This method call testing.. the resistance and is functioning for confirming the price if is start moving toward to our favour as per initialy iniated by EA. If the direction is confirm start moving on our favour, the order will be taken automatically by StopBuy function and the order will be managed as per normal DC Cross order.

However, if the order is closed by SL, the EA should send the order for buying immediately since the direction is already confirm to our favours..but at this time we already lost at SL+spread. This matter same case for sell also.

This method has pros and cons...but by having this features we can confirm that whether the EA is is really making too early of orders or not. If most of the trade was running and closed by JS with some profit... it means that the EA is really make early orders... But if most of the trade concluded with stop by SL, it means the DC is has predicted right direction for trade. and putting counter trade is not profitable.

Putting the idea it's easy, but make it in the programming is the hardest part. But I always believing in Steve and I know he can do it...!?

I think your idea is a good one Steve. I have noticed this behavior as well. I wonder if more testing should be done to hone the dc method and how it relates time frame wise to each of the pairs. I find huge losses usually limited to just the chf pairs.

I've been ignoring them and it's been better. I just wonder why the huge moves happen in the opposite direction quite a bit with certain pairs and not others.

Possibly a blanket setting for all pairs is not the way.

It's been a long time since I read through the thread completely but I'm going to go back and research the DC method a bit.
It takes me 1.5 bars on the M1 chart to eat a pancake.

I agree to the non blanket ruling of pairs. we all know not all pairs move the same and vary in ranges. I have not noticed a consistency against chf pairs though

Steve, I've just looked back over my log, and I think its an idea worth persuing since most trades take more than 20 mins to fill (roughly) it means that the price is not going our way.

So yes why not. a quick 20 pips would be pretty useful.

Great. Got all that and will start to think about how to code it. My D1 DC using your 'safe' method is up 20% in less than a week with minimal dd, so I am learning to trust your judgement.

Ok, I see people starting to want individual pair settings for the DC method. The EA is already a monster; the number of inputs are already ridiculous and must be horrible for a newcomer. To add individual pair settings would make the beast terrifying to approach.

Is it time to separate the DC functions and put them into a separate EA?

Thanks Steve for your appreciation.... I totally agree with your idea of separating the DC EA with the orders, but I do know about others. So far, the DC method is look the best among those 2 setup and by separating it, it will be easy for you to troubleshoot it if there is any problem...

Hi Guys...

Is there anybody observed that the 4HTF is producing less pips today compared to Daily chart. As at now, the 4HTF is produced only 11 pips with 8 open trades and DD=-$8, while the Daily is already produced 318 pips with 4 open trades and DD=-$2.

Steve, I think your setup with JS=51 and AddBEP=31 in Daily chart is the best so far since I observed after the partially cloase, the trades move more than 55 pips before it retrace. However, I got my previous result got lost when I put my TP=50 pips and that's the reason I choose moderate figures.

I just got strong feeling, it seems the 4HTF is not going along with the Daily chart i.e. if 4HTF produce high pips on that day, the Daily will be produce less, but wthout loss. While today is vice versa, and hopefully the 4HTF will closed all the pending orders with less pips and no loss....If this situation occurs like predicted, I would say 4HTF is better than Daily.

I've just looked back over the last 100 trades or so, of which over 60 % took over 10 mins or more, which gives me the opinon that it would be worth having a counter trade added. A small TP, 10 pips or so. Similar to Steves suggestion.

Would it possible to do this?
