Hello Dave,

Back from a family medical emergency. In catching up over the last 2 days, looks as if the Eur/Usd made a move even lower. On my Hourly, 4 hr and Daily the 200 sma is sloping down. Time to rethink long positions?

Yea rethink long is right, but dunno bout short either. In 2 days I have trades a few small 10-15 pip trades and I am right where I started on sunday. I don't usually lose a 10-15 pip trade. I will continue to test the waters when I see signs of a movement and when I post the next trade it should be good.
I pulled my last posted trade at -45 pips and good thing I did because I woulda lost 70.
I am not a firm beliver in leaving trades in if you see a reversal comming. Most of my trades are managed trades. Meaning you might need to pull profits or cut losses early. Keep this in mind if you take one of my trades.

Yea I just looked up the calander and alot comes out friday.

I will recomend this if your not a pro (I am not) I would just wait for first of next week to trade. When the data is realesed there can be a few large head fakes befor a real move.
If we get close enough to 1.1900 (like 20-30 pips) I might go long and place a stop/reverse order at 1.1865.A s/l at 1.1920-65 depending on acount size.
That way should be a winner no matter what. If it bounces off 1.1900 again than it probly be bigger than the last because it "should" be a wave 3.
If it breaks 1.1900 it will start hitting large stops and just sit back and smile cause the bottom will be opened up(nothins 100%) but pretty close I think.

After writing this now considering just placing a market order at 1.1865. And not going long at 1.2020-30.

Best advise still don't trade 2 days....

The pivot point is 1.2009.
A drop below this runs all the way to 1.1900 this time.

The break below 1.2000 now put a pattern on the hourly charts. I didn't notice it till just befor it happened. Didn't have time to plot a trade really.
If it sticks to the current trend lines than it targets 1.1900.
The real significance is if it breaks 1.1953 support.

edit: O'yea a bounce off 1.1953 could happen and a wave 3 could rocket up. Don't get caught short. Wait for the break and make it 10 pips below befor you trust it. I wonder about brokers cause I been testing charts on demos and the price feeds are different between them up to 3 pips. Some don't show fast spikes. So some might immitate them or some might filter them I don't know. I didn't like finding out that my price may or may not be true to the market.

Yea that was awsome. I went short at 1.2005 and had a target of 1.1915(+90 pips).
It just came to me like I shoulda seen it all along. And the news this morn set the posted trade in motion.

I would love to drive out there....Here's mine its not exotic but has alot done to it...

Sorry I didn't post the entry here. I took it at 1.2005. But I knew if it broke 1.1950 it was good to go.

I did post the info for any one who wanted it though. I didn't know if I was thinking the move or feeling the move. Now I can say I felt it.
At this point I will allow it to establish a range. It could take a few days to get to 1.1864 support.

What ever it is, Dave, it was a fantastic tip you posted. I entered with my instituition account the trade selling with a 7 digit figure at 1.2009 and got out at 1.1970. Then I went to bed and just at the European opening the miracle 1.1999 pop up again. I short it again and after the oil inventories, I was automatically locked out at 1.1929
I was moving my stop loss near to the price each time to secure the already acquired pips. 9 is my favourite number-

We won't blame you for anything mate. Losses happen ;-)

And we should not blindly just enter the trade. What I intend to do is look at your suggestion and think about it. Learn from it. Remember it. Improve by it.

Well last night/this morning was good. This is looking like its taking the high road with the daily close above the pivot point as the price couldn't sustain the fall. This looks like a wave 1 impulse wave that shot up. I am looking for it to goto the pivot point(1.1990) or somewhere near it to take a long position.
The wach closely for it to break 1.2053 resistance. Once that is broke it confirms the move to the upside.

I will enter @ 1.2060 on a break, s/l 1.2035
or on a bounce near or at 1.1990 pivot, s/l 1.1965
Target 1.2500

A break of the pivot and I don't know.

I agree with you highway, dave posts are a guide for any trader, but it is also a lesson for juniors like me. i really apreciate this help.
BTW in the daily chart of the eur i can see a doji dragon .How can i interprete it after a white candle?

It didn't get past 1.1990 I took a long as soon as it hit 1.1991.
s/l tight at 1.1970
Target:1st 1.2050 2nd 1.2150

eventually 1.2500

It can still retest 1.1990 and if it gets past no big deal.
But 1.2070 is a 50% retrace.

Here is 1 possible way it can go...

The pull back of 1.1990 is good the daily pivot is also 2 pips above the 38.2% fibo. If this holds then sweet, but if not it targets 50% fibo. I want out there but some one else might make there s/l larger wich isn't bad.

30 min chart
The RSI is bouncing off 50 line and stochs are over sold
