DislikedI'm forward testing the Firebird_autotrend_EMA(m5)v2 right now.
It does not seem to place trades with any regard to the 200 moving average.
In other words, it places sell orders when price is rising and above the 200 ma, and will buy when the price is below the ma.
Even when you change the "Direction" number to 1 or 2 it still places short or long orders regardless of that number. It seems to be ignoring the 200 ma.
Anyone else notice this?Ignored

DislikedHi FOREXflash,
Yes, actually I got this idea from pistoldave on post 177, by looking at his chart using only one moving average with this setting...
SMA period : 1
Shift : 1
Median Price (HL/2)
On the daily chart
...will help improove the EA to recognize the trend reversal. I think fredella is working on it too. Thank U so much FOREXflash.

DislikedHi PistolDave,
what about the FE version you stated to use before?
thanksIgnored
DislikedThere is no problem with the ea execution......
EA consist of 2 trading parts, first is to take a trade in the direction of the
daily trend, and the second is to take a few trades acordingly to the ea rules, and that means that you can have one buy, and few sells one after
another no matter what the daily trend is........
regarding the timeframes, use ea on 5min TF, cos ea is intended for that!Ignored

DislikedMy intention was to help you guys with the daily trend detection, cos originator
of the thread said that you need to look at the daily trend and then
accordingly to that, set the ea manualy to do the short or long trades,
and that is all I did.......
I didnt looked to much at the code, cos I realy dont have interest
in this ea, but Im willing to help. Im at work now, so some time later, ill
go through code, check for errors...etc. I must admit that I didnt even test it
before posting the revised code here!

DislikedHi friends and Forexflash
I agree with pistoldave, my results so far with the EMA(m5)v2 version have bought and sold regardless of the 200 EMA.
On a positive note I have had no losses with this version on my demo as yet, since the 2/2.
I will continue to demo and relay my results to this thread.
So far, so good fflash http://www.forexfactory.com/images/icons/icon10.gifIgnored
DislikedHi Ezzy, but did you change something in v2?
I am trying the last version with the EMA,
it opened one osition last night in LONG
we will se how it goes..Ignored
DislikedHi iopoipoi
I have not changed anything on that version, settings are standard. Since the 2/2, it has opened and closed a number of trades, all closed trades have been profitable, two of them have been buys so far.
To be honest, I quite like it. I will continue to demo it for a few more weeks, if it continues to give me these kind of results, I may try it live on mini lots .01Ignored
Dislikedthanks Ezzy, very cool

No problems mate, I am happy to share my results
I am using the following;
gpb/usd = 4 profitable trades (50 pips each) = 200 pips
aud/usd = 4 profitable trades (50 pips each) = 200 pips
eur/usd = 3 profitable trades (50 pips each) = 150 pips
usd/chf = 3 profitable trades (50 pips each) = 150 pips
Total = 1000 pips in 4 days. ( all on demo of course).Ignored
