Seriously though, I'm trying to trade without that divergence thingy for the moment...I just wanna get used to seeing divergence alone...

The M5 showed an overbought condition on the Trix. That is a trade Cobra explains in the manual.

"If you see the PA passing those levels and the fast Trix changes color you can switch to 1M and look for a fast scalp trade, they have a very high hit rate."

I've got it on my charts right now; but. it could very well be coming off to continue training myself on 'seeing' divergences without assistance.
That last countertrend trade on the 1 min - there was divergence, but, I saw it before the indicator showed up. I was actually in the trade and 2 pips over B/E before it showed.

Yeah, but my clip keeps running dry...shooting pips in a bowl is harder than it looks and they are tricky critters.

Here's what I did...disable the trend lines and let it just plot the arrows. Cuts way down on the distraction. Getting used to divergence takes a while but once you get it down you don't even need to draw the lines...you just see it and know.

Peter is watching the thread from his work (that's a real fan) and sent me the code to get the divergence only work on 5M above, great.

I will code it now and upload later when tested.

Just a thought...since some are using it in the 1 min as well as the higher time frames, could it be modified so that in the tabe where is has timeframes, we can select them...or choose the times?

Whatever y'all feel is better, I'm just along for the ride...

Here we go

Close MT4

paste and overwrite this one in your indicator folder.

Open MT4

delete the one one the template, the trend indi as well.

install the trix and trend indi again and you are done.

That will disable the divergence indication on 1M

It comes now with the lines in the trix disabled as well.

Perfect. Itīs working good. Tomorrow I will start trading more, Ive been reading, learning, trying for about 2-3 weeks now. Im still a newbie but I have been learning very much this time, promise. Thanks to all of you THV's in this thread, you are fantastic and I wish you all good. Now itīs time to take a rest. About 14-16 a day this weeks is hard for an old hart.

Hi Cobraforex,

I want to say thank you for creating this unique system and much more making it free for us to use. It just reminded me of how i got my breakthrough to work in europe; it was a company in Frankfurt that gave me a job to work in Germany and I lalso hope your system would offer me a breakthrough as a begin my forex trading journey.

With all the buzz about divergence recently I'd like to share some thoughts.
Divergence is a great tool but keep in mind that it's just that, a tool. A lot of times the divegence doesn't work and after several times of this most traders just start to ignore it. Cobra (or someone else) brought up the fact that on the shorter time frames it's not very dependable...spot on.
I can't post a chart right at the moment as I'm overhauling them but if you look at the M5 E/U chart at the prior push to the top you'll see what I'm referring to. Price moves above the MR1 and pushes up to the R1 and is rejected. Comes back down to the MR1 and moves up strongly to just above the R2, then makes a correction back down to (just above) the MR2. Then price moves up nicely to just short of the R3 and pulls back to just above the R2. Price again moves nicely up through R3 and stops midway between R3 and MR4.
This is a fairly reliable divergence...
Reason: Price made three higher highs and the trix made three lower highs. While the last high of the trix is higher than the second one it's still good divergence.
Point: A three point divergence is much stronger than a two point divergence and more reliable. You can see that the price move down after the third high was much larger than the down moves of the previous two highs...
