Hi Cobra and peeps.

I was wondering if anybody had any experience with the THV on the indicies ? is there anything particular with regards to the Trix that needs to be changed or can it be used as is ?

I'm continuously looking for new ways to improve my trading experience. If I find anything at all that I think may be useful to the group, you can be sure that it will be posted on FF first. As to that which dare not be named, (EA's, yuk! bah! humbug!) I hate them with a passion because for the most part they all break down at some point and unless you're willing to pay thousands of dollars for a truly adaptive automatic trading program you might as well save your money and trade the "old-fashioned" way. No free ride. No shortcut to true wealth. Just hard work and long hours. And just so you know, I REALLY suck at programming. It may change in the future but for now I am a programming retard although not totally unintelligent in most other areas. Love sudoku. I have what I think are some fairly good trading ideas and now all I have to do is learn a little programming and see if I can create a program that will trade the way I want. That's about all I can post for now. Need to quickly finish my chores or the master will beat me severely about the jowls until I fall unconscious into my small bowl of cold, week-old gruel. ROFL. Hi TrueGirth and welcome.

My observation is that intellectual intelligence has less to do with trading than emotional intelligence. Patience and discipline is something we hear alot about, and is simple to understand, but seems to take a lifetime to master.

First and foremost, another note of thanks to Cobra and all of the other folks who helped develop the system. I think I've finally found something that will work for me.

Secondly, I wanted to comment on the fact that we are focusing on only a couple of pairs to trade. I can't emphasize enough how that has helped my trading. After only a week, I know the EURUSD better than I ever have. In the past I've tried to trade multiple pairs, and I never really got to know them well. This, to me, is a huge improvement.

Some results trading my live mini account:

1/20/09 (London Session, early NY Session, a tough day to trade)
EURUSD +5
EURUSD -20
EURUSD +20
EURUSD -28
AUDUSD +18

1/21/09 (only traded a few hours of the NY Session)
AUDUSD +20
AUDUSD +16
EURUSD +2

1/22/09 (London Session, early NY Session)
AUDUSD +12
AUDUSD +8
EURUSD +13
AUDUSD -1
EURUSD +25

Not too bad for just starting. And I must say that I missed all of the big moves in these pairs over the past few days. It just worked out that I was away from my computer when the big ones came, and I only managed to hit the small ones.

I realize it is premature to get too excited about this, but I feel very confident that I'm on the right track (thanks to you)!

Hi everybody, hope you made some pips in this ranging market, was good to scalp but no real trend to nowhere.

I was working a bit more with Tim on the Trix indicator and a piece of art came out.

Below a screenshot, you see that we painted both T3 lines.

I need to get costumed now to it, having the idea how is different than to look at it now.

Tim made me the big favor to code several alarms, I still don’t know how best to use them, may be I’m coding some label alarms with voice that say “take profit from short trade” or so.

I need the weekend to get this together and present it to the team that will test it before release.

I think that this is a real improve to the system and we will have better and earlier signals that should be confirmed later on the main chart.

It can be used as well for extreme aggressive scalping on 1M but as always put the seatbelt on doing so.

I will not have time for videos till all this is done, I give priority to the new V2.1.

Again a big thanks and applause to Tim for coding this beauty and Freddy for making the contact to him.

And I am trading the 5 min chart using 1 min for entries. I know that the low pips on the wins makes it appear that I was scalping on the 1 min, but it just happened that I only seemed to be catching the small moves. And my comment about getting to know the pairs better is relevant here because the moment I sensed that the tide was turning, I exited in profit. I would not have been able to do that in the past. And I didn't exit early on any trades, but that is something I intend to evaluate because I don't want to get trigger happy and miss any runners.

No pips here yet. I still don't have pure scalping down yet. I have been running the simulator with mixed results. I was using the wrong hull at first so I got that worked out. Maybe I will wait for the new "trial version" to continue on the simulator.

And I also want to say a big thanks to Tim and Freddy (and Cobra again) for "keeping the ball rolling".

Hi Cobra,

I assume that you would only want to take a long or short when both lines on the T3 were the same color. Any issues with repainting of these lines? Something we need to watch. Keep up the good work!

I agree with only watching or two pairs. I used to watch many and could not concentrate on all the signals. I only trade the EU now and wait for the sweet spot. I am only up 13 pips during the NY session.

Never say "only" - if there is one thing that I have learned from the people who have traded for a living for a while (i.e. >10 yrs), it's that you're much better off taking a small win than letting it turn into a loser.

So any amount on the + side is a good day as far as I'm concerned. But I'm still an infant, and hope not to get too excited too early. Trying to take baby steps.

What I really love in the new indicator is that it gives you an early exit signal, you take TP and enter in the same trend again on continuation in case that it occurs.

What you lose in the worse case is the spread but mostly the retrace is higher than the spread.

I’ll start to trade it now on my mini account to see how things are working.

For example I took the last bull move on 1M after break of DP with a pending order and at 95, a TP signal was given. Prive bounced back till now to 75 and got new signal on 82. 95-82= 13- 3 spread = 10 pips gain in TP and reentry, now at 005.

It repaints only the actual candle, once closed it stays with the color.

If I translate you words I would do it like this:

Trade what you know well.

Stick with only one system and a max of 3 pairs that you studied enough.

Just a quick check...on your last screenshot it appears that you are using the hull_replace and T3 on the M1 chart as opposed to the Coral and T3 - is that correct. If so, the entry will be crossover of price above/below T3 cloud, & Hull_replace and Trix above/below zero...does that sound right. Thx.

yes Sir, but the trading direction I take from the red trix on 5M

But don't get confused actually with my experimental chart, I'm trying out trades and some may not respect all rules. This is neccesary to find out the best settings for V2.1.

Ahh...ok..so when Red Trix is above zero line on the 5M chart - we take all crosses above Hull_replace on 1M chart and visa versa for short positions...light bulb ...thanks Cobra.

That was a nice run...

For the first time I deliberately phased out my position as it was moving up...

I got in before the DP [I know ] anyhow, and at + 10 pips, I cut my position in half left my S/L same and then + 10 more pips, I cut my position in 1/2 again and put on a 15 trailing stop loss...I probably should have exited manually at 1.30000...

Even though I did not, I came out with 15 total pips using one standard lot... for a 40 pip move...

That's all right.....

Back to baby sitting...

i'm experimenting with a new filter. i want 100% wins. i only go long when it says so and vice versa.(all other conditions met). even if the coral and the hull says different.

will see how it goes.
