ye, but be careful - fundamentally its not the best buy now - better wait for tomorrow's ECB decision - in case of 1% cut EU can drop heavily

Thanks for that hyh, but I have found that waiting for "what ifs or maybe's" either causes me to close down trading or miss what look to be good Technical trades ... there has already been a near 76% retracement of the move up so (excuse my basic terminology) maybe your of any fundamental news is 'factored in' already ... the move up from 4th to 18th Dec. certainly looks a lot more impulsive than the recent retracements down.

I am going to trust my charts and take the trade expecting the up move to resume at this level. Obviously if I am wrong then the SL will be hit.

Be careful with stops during news announcement. Wide spreads and stop hunting. As example see Friday last week NFP.

Maybe were getting there before the news is released this should be o.k.

BTW I have a range 1.3070 - 1.3080.

Draw the line with the trendline tool (which can be drawn on any slope not just the horizontal marker tool) and then double click the line to get the points showing on it, then right click and choose properties, go into parameters, then uncheck the Ray box. That will allow the line to only go a specific length rather than infinity at the chosen slope.

Darn, I hate that when a post gets trashed just because the main servers get overloaded during news. Oh well.

Anyway, I have added the 1.2800 and 1.3000 levels to my list for longs on this pair. Watching all the others listed earlier too.

I particularly like the 2800 level because of the October-November wedge seen on the 4H chart. Key support and resistance levels typically exists near the centerline of these wedges, especially when you can find that the same level has been respected by the candles on smaller time frames. Also, this level is close to the 78.6% retracement of the major swing. [I know that BRV is partial to the 76.4% Fib and has had great success with it. But I was taught by Larry Pesavento and I have used it for years. Too old to change, I guess.] And these majors seem to like the big figures for some reason too.

The 3000 level is also in harmony with past levels and the 78.6% level of a lesser swing on the 4H chart. It should be good for a bounce too.

I agree with you, willow, on your 3070 level. Good support there. We do want to recognize the fundementals and the news, but again, as Pesavento was fond of saying, "Trade what you see, not what you know." [My hero, can't you tell?

P.S. I almost forgot: That 2800 level is the competion of a decent Gartley pattern, too. And, if price reaches that level today, it will have exceeded the ATR by significant amount and will be tired. It will be ready to bounce and take a rest.

Hi Folks,

I hope you didn't buy the first low at 1.3097, instead buy the second.

Caught the whole move down today from 1.3320. Sold the first and second high (the heat of the battle - promise next time I wait for the second only ;-)).

So they came back with a third to reach to that TL, but not enough to shake me out. ;-)

I was looking for it to go as far as 6847 resistance but the close below 38.2 fib was enough confirmation for me.
