In development, I had experimented with using both the original hull and the coral. It was quite interesting using it that way. If you look at SeerEye's post following yours, you see that the two hulls crossed close to entry. I found some of the best entries were when they crossed. However, we considered both hulls displayed to be too potentially confusing and don't recommend it. Be very careful having two hulls on your chart. It can be a difficult judgment over which one to be the main one, or which one to respect the most. I do not have two hulls on my chart. The coral is more conservative, as Cobra says, and I like that.

does the candle have to close for entry? there have been situation where the candle would meet the rules while the candle was still open

I always wait for the candle to close, at least on M1. I watch M5 and use M1 for entry, thus the close.

Be watching, price appears to be headed back down to cross coral soon.

I agree with SpecialEd. It is better to wait for the close. IMO, you might as well trade the 1M if you don't wait for a full 5M confirmation.

So far I'm on +11.10 % P/L this week with a good MM

waiting now to see if this retracement would be a "Hit and Run" on the hull (poems!) and possibly grab even more pips. eny opinions how you are handling this one ?

I didn't notice the H&S, but I did trade for some pips. I was stopped out early at entry when it retraced before a further move up. Good job supporting the Ecuador economy!

We need a trending market for THV and I use to trade the London and overlapping NY session

that's why we should have an additional screen with real candlesticks on 15M.

It helps a lot to keep track of the bigger picture scaling it in and out.

Everyone talking about the hull and the coral. I find that it is 6 in one hand, half a dozen on the other. No increase in accuracy. maybe i'm wrong, but that's the way i see it. I find the coral visually easier to read.

i working my way up to 1 min. it scares me right now. watching the market noise jump around is a nail biter for me right now.

now i am switching between the 30m and the 5m. I will get the direction of the 30 which will dictate what i do on the 5.

I definitely do that because the real candlestick chart is what I need to trade with my broker. I guess I am showing my lack of much experience in easily noticing candlestick patterns. Nevertheless, THV was able to signal the trade.

IMO that is a safe way to approach it. You can use the 1 min to refine your entry, which can help you squeeze more pips of of a run and possibly reduce risk of drawdown.

I can give you this tip to gradually get accustomed to noisy price action... I hadn't discovered this earlier because I never went any further than an hour on the trading simulator (MT4 Strategy Tester - on visual mode, and I use vhandstrade but I guess the other simulator would do the same trick, provided that you can let it run the same way...)

In fact after seeing the positive effects my week-end backtestings have had this monday on my normal TF charts, as to tranquillity, focus especially, and understanding of patterns and price action (M30 chart looked to me as a Daily after that, LOL) as well as screen hours experience, I have decided that, as a part of my trading discipline, I will do at least one hour daily of trading simulation, and at least 4 hours continued during the week-end so not to lose "the hand"... until it really crystallizes as a second nature in my trading reactions...

Set up the visual mode, at full speed (start with it in minimal though, as it will jump fast, then turn it off, set full speed - all the slider up to 32 - set it to "each tick mode", and use the mouse to start-stop the action - finger on the trigger at all times as the price moves REALLY fast...). You can also just watch the screen and price moving as a start, but I would recommend to really perform a trading test, as if you were trading normally, because if just watching price gone wild you will get sleepy or confused after a few minutes if you don't have the trading goal.

Maybe you'll have to adjust the speed gradually so to get accustomed, Vhandstrade allows you to see the open positions on the screen through a "Terminal" indicator window, so you can act on them fast given the case.
I personally started at around 26 (the number shows when you place the mouse on the slider) then 28 and now at full 32.

This allows for a faster test of longer periods (roughly 3 hours for a month at full speed).

Also, I do some scalping on Oanda's 5 seconds charts. You could try the Oanda's FXGame (demo) for a little fun, the charts are very good (no missing candles or such and plenty of movement as they show micropips - the patterns are totally tradable and easily recognizable as if it were a higher TF chart) meanwhile you acquire a good practice for smaller timeframes like M1 or M5. In this setup, I have the main chart at 5 seconds on half the screen, 1 minute chart vertical at the right (smaller, just the last candles) and 5 minute chart much smaller but visible. As you can't place THV system on Oanda, I am using there the Ichimoku Kinko Hyo with THV settings of 2-5-8, to at least simulate THV's PA crossing of the cloud.
I set all the windows (trades open, tickets and market order always open) so I can act fast as 5 secs is REALLY fast...

If you have some time to try it during the week, it can give you lots of sharpness for scalping and clicking at the right time, of course Oanda's server response is quite faster than any MT4 but you'll get the idea.
