MB Trading Futures - Introduction

As mentioned elsewhere on this thread, the demo account can have some issues, but after all its only demo! use it to learn the platform. I trade a live account and trade execution is good.
There are a couple of things you need to be aware of when trading on an ecn, one of which is using market orders in fast moving low volume conditions, you will be slipped, sometimes to your advantage, sometimes not. Use limit orders instead to control fills.
I have been at MB for over 18 mnths and I'm not going elsewhere, I really like the navigator platform, its been very stable in the volatile conditions of late & suits my trading style.

If you are with MB for 18 month you would have noticed something similar.

To be absolutely fair the Oanda platform (demo) froze just before the news and for some time after.

'Froze' would imply something occurred that was out of their control. They put the breakers on because it is money out of their pocket. Hard to blame them, they are a profit maximizing business after all and they might argue that the whole market tightens up around news meaning they can not hedge the trades with their liquidity providers. With everyone trading in the same direction no-one else is picking up the other side of your trade, so they would have to take it.

Even more irritating is when some of the bucket shops would requote and persistently deny your orders if the market was moving at all, and this wasn't just restricted to news releases. On the surface it might appear that you pay more in spreads on MBT - currently spread is jumping around 4 to 7 pips + commission on GBPUSD right now - but when you factor it all in I choose an ECN every time. At least you know where you stand with them.

We get it. There's one broker in the world that you hate, and you hate them so much that their thread is the only thread you post on on FF. And FF is evidently on to you because they've removed your signature and replaced it with {Promotion Removed}. So, really, everyone else already gets it. Everyone.

Justin, for the second time since I went with you guys, an order of mine was not picked up. Both times would have been winning trades and both times no one can tell me why this happened. This guy says he's going to look into it and get back to me, but I know what he's gonna say: sorry about your luck. He also told me that I can enter my order NOW...now that it's 400 pips below my entry. Thanx a lot.

So bucket shops mess w/ the feed and you guys just don't enter winning trades? Why is it that my LOSING orders always get picked up?

This is unacceptable and has me wondering if this is the scam that ECNs run.

Also, let me complain about the demo. It's so buggy that you can't test trading strategies on it and have to get a demo w/ someone else to do so. Not good.

..anyway Justin. I assumed my stop limit got surpassed by the market, but why was the guy on the phone telling me that I cancelled it prior to entry? That's what got me pissed, besides losing 4 trades and not having my one winning trade picked up.

Actually, these 2 trades are the only problems I've had w/ MBT so far. I'm just pissed that after 4 consecutive losses, the one win that would have gone a long way to making up for those losses, was not picked up. ANd when I called to confirm that my limit had been bypassed in a very fast move, the guy tried to tell me that I cancelled the order. Still a little pissed but moving on.

Now the demo is another story. I don't want to demo w/ another broker's platform. I want to demo a new strategy w/ the same tools and data feed that I would be using in a real acct. Demoing on a buggy demo system could definitely lead to false assumptions about a trading strategy that could cost you real money when you go live w/ it. I def want to see that fixed, but I'm hanging w/ MBT. Thanx Justin. Next time I'll just come straight here and forget calling.

I've made over 10% on the base capital I committed to trading @ MB this year. Not a stellar year, but not terrible either as we've watched major banks and financial institutions turn themselves inside out.

How about you 42? You have a pretty good return this year in your trading? By "good return", and "trading" of course I mean your paycheck, "traded" to you by the dealdesk that floats your twit-boat, for your by-hour work. Sounds about right, yeah?

What's really been interesting to watch is how deftly the idiot squad has been handled by Justin in 2008, with increasing skill. Each attempt to trash some different-than-the-dealdesk aspect of the MB / TDFX business model has served as an opportunity to tout the truly beneficial differences that traders are interested in. You twits, in attempting trash MB, are in fact creating a multi-national sales floor for Justin to sell their superior products. No worries though, since crooks are also usually idiots.... even having said this plainly, they won't stop.

Cheers to MB for 2008, and looking forward to 2009!
Hi all,

What are ALL the charting and historical data options we have with MBTrading? I'm currently using Intellicharts (Fxtrek). For the most part, I'm very happy with them. However, I study historical charts a lot, and for that, they are HORRIBLE. Today would be the THIRD time I contacted them about changing data/changing charts.

The gist of it is that I test my strategy's entries and exits on historical charts that I run through Intellichart Desktop. But on many occassions, I would come back to the same charts and see that the data has CHANGED. What was a valid entry before is no longer valid. What was a winning trade before is now a losing trade. What was a perfectly beautiful movement before, is now a congested mess! I've contacted them, they say "sorry, we found a problem with the historical data. Problem fixed now", but it would come back, again and again. Now, I can't be sure whether I'm looking at the good data or the bad data! Arggg!

I really want to change charting providers, but the only other option I know of is Esignal, which is much more expensive. Does anyone who's with MBT use anything else besides Intellichart and Esignal? Justine? Anyone?

Maybe you can teach me to make money and place orders like stops and limits. You make very little sense. I work for a dealing desk but I tell people to trade with ECN models like Currenex or Hotspot. Which IMO depending on the broker, Currenex is ten times better than MB. Less down time, quicker execution, more transparency and a whole lot cheaper. Enjoy paying $50 per M or more with MB. By the way, if you want to see my results you have to be QEP which I highly doubt you are but if you are let me know and I will send you the appropriate docs. That way you can see the results otherwise I cant show but enjoy that 10%.
