Certainly NOT my intention - Bob has been such a generous and helpful forumite.... I would never do that to his thread..... I asked my question here because people reading this thread are familiar with this EA and might be able to help me (I've also asked in the programming board, but no result as yet).... If anything comes of it I will certainly create a new thread and of course continue with my audnzd observations here.

ive started some more demoing with a wider SL level...

40x30 with 8 levels maxtrade and 1.7 multiply.. SL 280

and 45x25 with 8 maxtrades and 1.6 multiply with 250 SL

thoughts?

Interesting concept. I guess the way to do that would be divide, You would change the multiply number to a number you would want to divide. Then go into the program and change multiply into divide. I dont know if that would work but that would be the concept. You would put 80 in and divide by 2 so your levels would be 80,40,20,10,5,2.5, 1.25 etc. until you reached 0. Is this what you are thinking???

I am working with 30x30 2.0 multiply to give me more range. See what happens. Good luck

Actually I have a very different idea, and the numbers I crunched over the weekend look very promising...... I would like to test it out before disclosing though, as I don't want someone to run off with the idea without sharing the mechanics to achieve it!

Just a quick heads up, between about 1:30 pm & 4:30 pm this afternoon (eastern Australia summer time) I was getting 3 pip spreds .May be worth following up,cause as soon as there was any life on the chart it went to 19 pips !
Made tiny trades profitable

The two things you missed is aud/nzd spreads have increased tremendously sometimes 40-50 pip spreads which effect profitability and why in the world would a failure of the auto bailout would cause the aud/nzd to move over 200 points.

it's too earlier to say becoz 1 loss = days of profit. Even if u break even or have a small profit, u only need a few hours to clear that. With the current spread, it's much more easier to get those bad day.

the equilibrium between SL risk and profitability is difficult to find...

my 45x25 at 1.6 multiply is doing quite well in this respect, funnily enough its less drawdown and more profit then 40x30 at 1.7

Actually I am finding it harder and harder to eake out profits on my live account. The amount I am making versus risk is not so good anymore. It used to be I could get a nice return every day but now not so good. I have not had a 100+ day in a couple of weeks where as I could get one or two a week. When you have a 200+ dollar stop loss it is taking longer to recover. Still making profit but not as happy.

My 30x30 is working but the profits are small. Will have to rethink.......

maby the norm isnt 100+ maby November when we started was an abnormal month for this EA, maby December is abnormal the other way???

How can December be normal with the spread going unstable ?

30x30 is way too risky. 1 loss is a lot of money, but if u consider using 30x30 will never loss, u shouldn't have any problem

I don't know nanningbob set stop loss or not. To me, i don't use SL in any setting because there will always be retrenchment and I exit on my own.

What i'm trying to say is losing in 30x30 will result in a huge loss which can never be recover, unless u are confident that 30x30 never loss at all, u are in to blow up account sooner to later.

I think the major problem we could have is recovery time when u take a loss.

I had been trying to figure out for months on how to trade the constant up and down bounce of the Aud/Nzd. That was its constant for many months. Now the bouncy thing is not so pronounced and the spreads have gone higher. Maybe the banks raised the spread to stop the bouncy thing. It was those 50 pip bounces in 5 minutes that made this EA so profitable. I am not seeing them now.

Yep, I think the rubber has left the aud/nzd pair. Another bust out last night.
