How long has your best EA ran live before you adjusted it or moved on?

Just wondering how long others EA's have been running live successfully before you either had to alter the parameters as the market shifted or you moved on to another EA.

I would never run an EA in live that didn't backtest properly. Until recently, I haven't created any EAs that run properly so I've never had one in live. Running an EA live without positive backtesting results is insanity.

Assuming you've backtested and forward tested a system properly, and then took it live, how long has your best EA stayed profitable before the markets shifted and you either had to alter the parameters or realized the EA would no longer work in the new market? If you altered the parameters, how long did those settings work?

Continuously? 4 months.

On/off (no parameter adjustment) 1 year and counting.

hey permanentjaun..... some of mine have ran untouched on all pairs since they were written.... the longest being maybe 10 months....

but that might still not meet your "not altered the parameters" condition, as the ea's are written to alter themselves..... in other words, the individual pairs profittargets and stoplosses might change on a weekly basis, it's almost guarenteed they will.... and the total account() profittarget or stoploss might change also, almost guarenteed it will..... but the ea is coded to handle all that with no intervention from me.....

also some of the indicator values will be modified, once again by the ea, not me.....h
