That is when I am satisfied that the angle is OK to get high probability trades. When in downtrend if it is below-0.1000 I start looking for a trade.

It is a custom Signal that tells the angle of the 50 SMA!That is great! Where can we find it please? We all can use it!

1. Are the EMAs and SMAs applied to the close price?

2. Are the bollinger bands applied to close also?

First off, I just discovered this thread yesterday and can't wait to give this a go. Thank you Phil and all the contributors. I have spent the past couple of hours reading through this entire thread and it certainly was time well spent.

hard1head1, check out post #235 - 240 for the information you seek. Good explaination there and Phil even supplies a pdf for further clarification. FYI, on MT4 platform, ctrl+N gives you the navigator pane (or View -> Navigator) from which you can drag the 21ma directly onto the SMAAngle indicator. Hope that helps.

Hi guys

i like this approach, thanks Phil et al.

I use TS8.2 and therefore do not have the angle indicator. Does anyone know how I could get arund this? i.e. is it possible to use another indicator such as MACD to tell me when to start looking for a trade entry?

If so, what settings work?

And what about USDJPY? For me looks like if it works.

Thanks Philip for sharing your system! I hope to earn some money using it. I've got an account at Oanda, which is a poor platform, so using only moving avareges is great for me.

There are a few. Just go to Forum, trading system. There you would find the thread. Just above the stars you will find attachment icon. Click on it ans all the attachment wil show. Just click on the file and save it to the indicator folder of the MT4 platform.

Pull the Moving Angle Indicator on to the window of SMAANGLE (Not on to the window of price chart). Now, after pulling the Moving Average Indicator on to the SMAANGL window, you get the option to apply it on to "first Indicator data". Apply it! In fact, as you have already found the apply to "first Indicator data" option, it means you were already pulled the MA indicator on to the SMAANGLE window. You get the "first Indicator data" option ONLY when the MA is pulled on to the SMAANGLE window.

The name of the expert is "PhilNel Expert" and is an EX4 file and you can fid in the list of the attachments.
