I am using this 5Min intraday strategy with great success on the EurUsd and Gpb/Usd. Three deals max. per day. Open position when the angle of the 50 Simple moving average are greater than 20Degrees and the price retrace back into the zone of the 21 Exponential moving average and the 10 Exponential moving average. Set stoploss at 6 pips plus spread and profit taking at 8-10 pips. Move stoploss to breakeven as soon as 6 pips gain is obtained. Using this strategy is at your own risk. Hope someone will benefit from it.

Below is some important links to questions and Information. Work through that as the most important answers are there.
Thanks to Golfer for compiling it.

The 20 Degrees is determined by eyesight. It is about trading with the trend that is strong when the angle of the 50MA is strongly in a direction. It is not about the exact angle. One gets a feeling for the movement over time. It is true that the samples given are very true ones. It is to make the explanation easier. I do make max three trades per day. After two wins in a row (±15-20 pips) I am finish for the day. One win and one loss make me trade on more time. Two losses in a row and I am out for the day. I will post more difficult examples. The main purpose is to determine a strong 5min trend through the angle of the 50MA and then enter the trade when it retraces back inside the other two MA's

This was a more difficult day. The purple areas are the ones where the 50MA angle were to flat for a trend and to do trades. Still I managed one wrong and two correct rades for the day. Trade No1 was wrong and trade 2 and 3 were right ending up with 8 pips positive. There were several other trades afterwards that were much easier to spot with the angle of the 50MA. Give the 50MA some time to develop and to clearly show its angle before entering on a retracement into the 21EMA and 10EMA. There are plenty of chances to get in. Wait for the good setup to occur.

Good method phillip...!

Well my two pips....
cable's price always have a lot of whipsaw, so u might wanna relook athat 50 sma for ur SL coz it will surely hit alot of times...

i used to have a system somewhat similar where is use 55ema and 60 ema to determine trend bias...from there i will use price action setups to go long or short, depending on the ema projection. target 10-20 pips per trade.

Eurusd will be a good option for this method.

I found that your trading system is interesting and simple...
Sorry for my stupid question.. I'm newbie here
I have few question about your system
Please correct me if I am wrong, the rules is :
- 50 SMA
- 21 EMA
- 10 EMA
- Stop loss 6 pips + spread
- Profit taking 8 - 10 pips
- Best on USD/EUR and GBP/USD
- Open position when 50 SMA angle more than 20 degrees... (sorry if my English poor) and what do you men by retrace int 21 EMA & 10 EMA ?
is The Price Line must cross or hit the both of 21 EMA and 10 EMA ?
- 50 SMA is the trend indcator ? if 50 SMA downtrend ... we open sell and visa versa ?
- How long have you trade with this system ? and how is the win % ?

Thanks...
Hope you'll reply ..

Nice method. It would be great to have some filters maybe off the M15 for the trend.

All the best

There were two trades today.

The rules are as follow.
1. The 50 Simple moving average must be in a strong trend identified by the angle it is in.
2. Wait then for the price to pull back into(inbetween) the zone of the 21EMA and the 10EMA.
3. Enter the trade within this zone.
4. Set stoploss to 6 pips plus spread.
5. Move stoploss to breakeven after 6 pips gain is on.
6. Take profit 8-10 pips.

Nice little method... I see no reason to mess with adding any filters... It seems like it works quite well on it's own... The real key to making money after one has a positive expectancy system is to use valid money management... Just like many systems available here, this works very well.. Congrats.

I don't trade with indicators and or filters. The main thing is to make sure rule No 1 (50SMA are trending strongly) is valid, then wait for the price to pullback into the zone, close your eyes and enter. Do some backtesting and you will see how often this occur. You will be amaze.

The main thing is moneymanagement. Stick to the rules(close the trade when 6 pips + spread) is against you.
