I have been unable to get the second HAS with the longer term settings to display on my chart. Only the original will display. Can anyone tell me what I am overlooking? It must be something obvious....

Just stopping by here briefly...

Someone may have pointed this out already but if there is a longer term method that you can tie into this, this entry can be a great way to get in very early on some longer term moves. I'm heavily involved with Phillip Nel's 4 hour Rhythm Strategy and I've seen that when the 4hr charts are approaching one of the high probability entry areas (I've added a 1 hour entry method to get in early there) that this 1 min can serve as the following:

-Since the 4hr method basically only gives you one direction to trade you already know which way to go, long or short.

-Narrowing down to the 1 hour entry set-up, the 1 min entry here can either get you in early per the 4hr direction or

-Confirm the 1min move.

Here's an example:

The high probability trades on the 4hr method deal a lot with price coming back down to the 21 EMA(bullish) or back up to the 21 EMA (bearish), blue line on the first chart, gray box. This chart (the 4hr method) is telling you that I want to be ready to go long.

Now we narrow it down to the 1hr and look for the +DM/-DM cross, second chart, yellow line, gray box on the ADX. This is the 1 hour entry. Today at 21:00 according to this chart.

Bring in the 1min, third chart. Again, the 4hr chart is telling you that I only want to be long this pair. The green vertical line here at 19:47 gives the long entry for the one minute method,....I think. And happens about 1 hour and 15 minutes before the 1hr entry confirmation. The two vertical yellow lines on this one minute chart comprise the 1hr bar for the 1hr chart....about 40 pips later. I see some additional aggressive entries here on the 1min (long only) because I know what the longer term trend is telling me. I haven't forgotten about the use of the 5min here. I'm just pointing out that the longer term trend direction (when known with following a longer term method) can get you in a lot earlier for the longer term method or provide multiple entries along the way (via the 1min) to get in on the longer term trend.

You have to manage this correctly though. If you're only trying for a few pips here with the longer term trend your lot size should be what you use to trading on the 1min. If you're looking to get in early on the 4hr trend (and possibly add multiple entries along the way with the 1min) you're lot size should be smaller because you may be entering multiple times and your stops might have to be wider becuase you are on a longer timeframe here.

Again this may not be anything new to anyone and I'm not here to hijack this thread or promote another method....I'm just here to throw in my 2 cents...or pips worth. Hope some of this helps.

Hi CanuckCT, All i have to say is God will continue to bless u. This is what i was trying to say, not for some people putting fear in people mind or saying that this method is for professionals thereby scaring the newbies away.If u have an idea,share it and present it in a simple way just like Canuck did. FEAR.... We have been where you and most new traders have been. All we are saying is scalping a 1min chart is not easy for beginner traders, Nobody ever said this was a professional only way to trade. But be warned, this is not as simple as it looks and as a beginner you are much better off learning to trade on longer time frame charts. I'm not here to scare anybody away, but here to warn them that this could be a expensive lesson , if they chose to learn forex with a 1min scalping chart. I have no idea why your post and the way you state things gets me so grumpy lol, But once again I'll walk away and bank a few pips off the usd/jpy, very nice trading going on with it right now. Pips make me realx lol

I'm sorry for getting grumpy, my 3 boys got home and invaded my trading room lol, they can add stress to the mix. Well walking away. +120 to start day. a few JPY trades and a chf trade. I'll post a chart of what i'm looking at, but know rules are not all worked out yet. working on a pdf with rules and labeled charts. Just not quite done yet. know i have been taking 34 cci crosses against 170 that show strength if my 34/55 Ma's have turned color and support entry, plus I look to 170 cci for weakness

The reason why I ask is that I have another trading platform that I overlayed the regular MACD with the DiNapoli MACD. With this you get a better indicator of when to jump out or in.

I wasn't referring to Phillip's method in particular to use as a longer term compliment to the 1min method, I was referring to any longer term method that anyone follows....

Looks like a good system with clear rules. Heres a shot of one I recently took. Also there was a nice entry on G/$ about 10 minutes ago.
I've had a skim through the thread and will look back over it whilst trading, but I was wondering if someone can direct me to a signal that pops up when all the stars Aline.i.e, crossovers and HAS.

I believe you posted it allready, but cannot find it because there are many (very usefull) posts of you.

What indi's do you use on the chart from post 2187?
I hope you can attach them again with a template.

Funny you should ask, I just got done zipping it all up, so me and my 2 partners would be looking at the same charts. Here's the indicators and the template were trading

ty and to you also, writing the rule set for how we are trading this is getting to be a real pain. we have cd's base rule set we use, but there are also other trades we are taking off of this set up and we are testing out the 50 level for the 170 cci and 100 level for 34 cci as entry filters. so lol I'm trying but at the same time alot of my trades are based on my feel for the chart/currency/time. plus I tend to like to bank certain pip amounts(10/15/30/50/100 ) so I'm not holding my trades for a exit signal, more of the movement, the strength and after setting stop to break even, I'm pretty much just following price and bring stop up and locking in key areas or amounts
